Developing right now a deadly crash shut down a portion of the schuylkill expressway for hours overnight in fairmount park. Police say the crash happened around 11 30 last night in the eastbound lanes at the montgomery drive exit. According to investigators, a speeding driver was tossed from the car after hitting a barrier. The tractortrailer then rear ended the empty car flipping it onto its roof. Thats right, police have evacuated this home behind me after police did discover a group of suspicious chemicals inside one of the apartments there. Collingdale Police Called the state police its chemist unit and right now they are waiting for them to arrive to determine exactly what theyre dealing with. Well, this is video from earlier. Police told all neighbors in this duplex to evacuate for safety reasons. There are several apartments inside the house. The neighbors seen here are not linked to the investigation. However, three people who live in the rear apartment have been detained by police. Now, Police Arrived to this home in the 1200 block of macdade boulevard around 1 twenty in the morning after an officer spotted an alleged shoplifter acting suspicious at a nearby cvs. That suspect ran into this home and when Police Arrived and were let inside to speak to the suspect they noticed a group of suspicious chemicals. One neighbor even told police this morning she noticed something recently. He saw what he believed to be making of some sort of chemicals or lab. He backed out, called me. I called on call cid detective supervisor. We conferred and the house is sealed and the three occupants are at a Police Station and at this time were awaiting for the arrival of a chemist from the state police and a state police supervisor. Reporter now, collingdale is a small police department. They do not have their own hazmat unit. Thats another reason why they called on the state police and the state Police Officer is stationed about two hours away. That call was made shortly after 2 00 a. M. So, theyre still waiting for that person to arrive. The three people detained are the three people that live in the rear apartment where they did discover those suspicious chemicals. He had been on the run for more than a month. He faces 2,000 counts of Reckless Endangerment and aggravated assault for the shooting of two people in york on september 9th. Police suspect the teen also carried out several other shootings in york. State police say they have a suspect in a series of thefts from vehicles in Delaware County over the past several months.
