I think id use elwood road or colon avenue as alternates. Matt. A womans throat was slashed in the Port Richmond section of the city and shes in critical condition. It happened near the 2900 block of frankford avenue at 3 a. M. Two people saw the woman walking down the street bleeding profusely and police. Police say the woman did not have any identification and so far they have no suspects or a motive. Fortunately we did find several cameras on businesses in the area, 2900 frankford avenue and hopefully these cameras recorded something that can help us with this investigation. Police took the woman to the hospital where she is undergoing surgery. It is 5 04 and a Philadelphia Police officer shot in the line of duty gave the thumbs up as he headed home and the men charged in connection with the shooting are awaiting arraignment. Action News ReporterAnnie Mccormick gave us this story. Reporter surrounded by his Philadelphia Police family officer mccullough got an extra hand into a car. He gave the thumbs up to our camera as he exited penn Presbyterian Hospital and the 24yearold young father about to be married spent one night in the hospital after he was shot on the job sunday night. It was then a woman flags down mccullough and his partner after a robbery and carjacking. Police say these two suspects, 23yearold Scott Griffin and 20yearold samir coyett robbed a plan at 59th and market then carjacked a woman near basement mccullough went after griffin. The suspect starts to take off. Officer mccullough starts to chase him. At that point he turns, he shoots and he shoots him one time in the leg. Reporter mccullough applied a tourniquet to his leg because there was so much blood. Then his partner rushed him to the hospital. Last night his good friends from the northeast philadelphia rugby club were celebrating their Friends Health and say hes a tough guy, the best guy to be other oe streets fighting crime. Hes a quiet guy. But on the field hes a mad man. When i heard the report when they said he tackled the guy i said thats jimmy. Joaned it. From our new jersey News Room Police in Hamilton Township are trying to track down vandals who toppled an 800pound statue of a roman goddess outside of the Italian AmericanHeritage Center. Its the seconds time the vandals have struck the building on liberty street. Last year someone defaced a statue of Christopher Columbus that stands at the corner of the property. Were trying to be proud of our heritage and were trying show it and theyre just tearing us down. Police checked security cameras in the area for leads but without success. Volunteers have installed their own camera system at the center. The Italian AmericanHeritage Center is offering a reward for information leading to their arrest of the vandals.
