A tractortrailer and a box truck collided on the northeast extension today causing a huge mess and, of course, a major traffic backup. Chopper 6 overhead about 1 00 this afternoon in the northbound lanes in milford. This section was closed between lansdale and quakertown. The box truck appeared to have collided with the big rig. The truck spilled its load all over the road. And the driver of the truck was trapped for a while. Finally, though, was freed by rescuers. Many people who were stuck in the backup were tweeting from their cars that their cars were failing because they were sitting in the heat so long. The scene was cleared shortly after 2 00. A person was ejected from their vehicle in mullica hill this morning and was sadly killed. It happened at ellis and richwood roads at 6 00 a. M. Police say the driver of a ford transit van disregarded a stop sign and a flashing red light and went through the intersection hitting a ford f150. The 58yearold driver, a man in the van, was from pennsauken and was killed. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The details surrounding the death of a woman in dover remain a mystery today. The action cam was along the 200 block of college road this afternoon as investigators were wrapping up their work. Police will only tell us an africanamerican woman in her 50s was found dead laying in a yard this morning. Her identity will be released once the family is notified and police say the investigation is ongoing. They ask anyone with information to please contact them. Attorney general Jeff Sessions is set to testify before Congress Tomorrow and hes asked to do it in public. The attorney general will appear before the Senate Intelligence committee. Hes requested that the hearing be an open one so that, in his words, the American People hear the truth directly from him. Sessions is facing a long list of questions about his meetings with russian officials and his role in the firing of fbi director james comey. Meanwhile, another federal Appeals Court has upheld a decision blocking president trumps revised travel ban. A threejudge panel from the ninth Circuit Court of appeals ruled unanimously that the ban violates u. S. Law by discriminating people based on their nationality. That comes as the Supreme Court considers a plea from the white house to reinstate the ban despite Lower Court Rulings against it. Janai norman, abc news, orlando. A massive search is underway in kansas where police say vandals caused 75,000 worth of damage to a church. This was the scene at Bethel Church in kansas city. Several pews and instruments were broken and a section of the building used as a food pantry for families in need was destroyed. Police believe the vandalism occurred between friday afternoon and sund morning. Church members are broken heart broken. A house fire and explosion in baltimore, maryland. Earlier in the day, neighbors said they did report smelling gas but firefighters found nothing wrong. The exact cause remains under investigation. All the victims were rushed to an area hospital. Well start with a curious talk of mistaken identity. This mixup caused a man to spend 17 years behind bars because he looked like the man who he says really committed the crime. Check this out. Richard jones is charged with aggravated robbery in kansas city just about 20 years ago. He had an alibi. There was no physical evidence ever tying him to the crime. But a witness picked his picture out of a police lineup. But 15 years later, this guy, ricky amos, went to prison also, a nearly identical match. When i saw his picture beside mine, i seen the resemblance that me and him had, i just knew that it was understandable why other people said the same thing. Well, amos has denied any involvement in the crime, but the witness who identified jones admitted that he couldnt tell the two apart making his earlier testimony undependable. A judge ordered that jones immediately be freed. A journalist spotted a vending machine that was selling fake social media love in an upscale mall in moscow. And soon, cosbys fate will be in their hands. Monday night and the big story on action news is the cosby trial moving closer to a jury from allegheny county. Its a case that took more than a decade to bring to trial, but the trial itself is barely a week old. Action News Reporter Sarah Bloomquist is live in norristown, Montgomery County, to bring us up to date. Reporter both sides wrapped up closing arguments just about an hour ago. The next part of this is that the jurors whether receive instructions from the judge about what to consider during their deliberations. Its unclear at this point in toe deliberations will begin this evening. And, remember, this is a jury coming out of allegheny county, out of pittsburgh. They want to get home so they may want to get started on those deliberations this evening. Today, the defense painted cosbys relationship with his accuser, andrea constand, as consensual. The prosecution countered, no, it was a crime. Bill cosby arrived at the courthouse this morning with his wife of 53 years, camille, by his side for the first time in six days of testimony. She sat across the aisle from the woman at the center of this criminal case, andrea constand. The defense called just one witness, a detective, who testified for only a few minutes. The defense attorney brendan campbell, who is not associated with the cosby case, explained the probable strategy. The fear there in putting on testimony is that it opens the door for a potentially the commonwealth to call other witnesses such as other potential victims in the past.
