A lot of highlights from hollywoods biggest night but perhaps the biggest highlight is the biggest blunder in oscar history. Not only was the biggest prize of the night initially given to the wrong movie the correction happened in realtime on live tv. Now, more on that in a second. First it was a big night for two local stars who did in fact win oscar gold. Justin horowitz fantastic and justin paul for city of stars lala land. Thats ardmores ben patrick giving high 5s and his glee was contagious. My god, im actually freaking out right now. And thats his mom kathy a professor at Temple University taking pics in the crowd like all moms do. I want to thank my mom who is amazing and my day tonight and she let me quit the jcc Soccer League to be in a School Musical so this is dedicated to all the kids who sing in the rain and all of the moms whom let them. Thank you very much. I love you, mom. [applause] also winning for lala land last night Damien Chazelle of haverford. The 32yearold is the youngest ever to win best director but its what lala land didnt thin didnt win ths people talking. This is into the joke. Moonlight has won best picture. Moonlight. Best picture. Jordan horowitz producer for lala land graciously corrected the mix up. It was a surreal moment for sure. But, you know, i wanted to make sure that the right thing was done because, you know, at that point it was not about me, it was about making sure that moonlight got the recognition it really deserves. So how did the biggest oscar oops in history happen. Take a closer look at that moment in Warren Beattys hand the envelope reads best actress in a leading role not best picture. Price Waterhouse Coopers which that counts the votes apologized for the mistake saying the presenters had mistakenly been given the wrong category envelope. And when discovered was immediately corrected. The firm says it deeply regrets the me take its investigating what happened. Price Waterhouse Coopers has handled oscar balloting for more than 80 years. There was that moment but back to ben patrick and his mom kathy we had her here in the 6abc studio. She promised she wouldnt wear jeans to the oscars. She delivered on that and that oscar coming right back home to our area. What a great moment that was. Epic night for those from our area and what an ending for sure. Yeah. Cant script that kind of thing. Uhuh. Alicia, thank you. It is time once again for a check of the accuweather forecast. Meteorologist adam joseph now with the details on what to expect. Hey, adam. Yeah, were starting off on the cloudy side but above average again and then near records the next two days. Theres a couple of spotty sprinkles around right now live on sky6 over the ben franklin bridge but overall were talking about the warmth and were talking about just the lack of sun to start the week. 54 right now philadelphia, 52 in wilmington, 53 in dover, 52 in allentown, far cry from the 70s we had last week but dont worry, 70s are in the near future yet again. So, as we take a look at february, either it goes one way or another it seems around here. Just two years ago in 2015, temperatures in february for philadelphia were running close to 10 degrees average 10 below, that is, 14 of those days below 32 degrees, seven of those 14 days highs were only in the teens and 20s. Fast forward to the present here temperatures running 8 degrees above normal, 15 days above 50 degrees and four of those days in the record territory above 70 degrees, so again, sometimes we have cold februaries, and some years we have very warm ones and a few in between. As we take a look at satellite and radar, High Pressure to our east. Right now you can see some of those sprinkles and a few scattered showers passing through the area with that southerly wind so the clouds really hanging strong overnight tonight with that spotty sprinkle. Upper 30s to the north and west. 41 in wilmington, 44 philadelphia. 40 in millville and mid 40s even down to the south. As we go into tuesday, were going to break some of this cloud cover apart a little bit of the day with some peeks of sun going into the late morning and into the afternoon and notice the temperature profile going back into the mid 60s. In fact, were going to be a degree or so from the record here tomorrow which was set back in 1976 of 68 degrees and then the first day of march on wednesday, for the first day of march, 74 degrees, close to the record of 76 set back in 1976 and in fact, as we look at future tracker, 4 30 tomorrow afternoon again some clouds around and then were going to track a round of some downpours here. Once the sun sets tuesday evening this is 10 oclock thats the first round to go roo through and then a second round on thursday. The four day at 4 00 forecast temperatures of 67 degrees, clouds with some sun and then on wednesday warm with a gusty thunderstorm in the afternoon again ahead of that front near record high temperatures. Some of those storms could have some severe winds with them and then thursday its windy, temperatures falling into the 50s and 40s and then on friday a rain or a snow shower around, highs back down to 42 degrees. So, where do the temperatures go for that first weekend of ma are . Well let you know in that sevenday in the next half hour. Anybodys guess. Aint that the truth. Adam thank. Thank you.
