o'clock here at the wells fargo center for game number one. fans have had all day to explore the city and open their wallets. for basketball fans visiting for the ncaa east regional tournament the game wasn't the only priority. >> i got off the airplane and came back here. >> reporter: folks at pat's and geno's are happy for the boost especially on good friday when the cheesesteak business tends to slump. >> it's great for us that people are eating meat today. >> reporter: this is philadelphia's first men's regional tournament since 2001 and businesses at reading terminal market were even more packed than usual. >> we've seen a lot of basketball fans coming through it's been a lot of fun. everybody's getting all excited. >> we always have people coming through the market but of course there's a lot more coming in day. for basketball fans it was a chance to spend quality time in an iconic city before cheering on their beloved team in the great 16. >> great to be around other fans and the camaraderie. we travel really wie. we're really great fan base. >> reporter: lots of fans here today. local tourism officials estimate 17,000 out of town visitors will be here for the salute to remember the police officer from delaware county who was shot and killed near washington, d.c. >> ♪ services for officer jacai colson took place. the 28-year-old plainclothes narcotics detective was killed in a shootout at a maryland police station earlier this month in a case of mistaken identity. his funeral was originally going to be private but prince george's county police say that after so much support from the community, they opened it up to the public. colson's mother today remembering his big smile and his devotion to his job and the people around him. she says today her baby is at peace. >> we're at peace, jacai is calm and i know that infectious smile that he had he's grinning down and he's saying yeah, mom, that's my mom, that's my mom. >> really beautiful service today. officer colson will be buried in delaware county during a private ceremony on monday colson was a four-year department veteran. sharrie. >> alicia, thanks. dover, delaware police have confirmed that they have found the body of a missing military member. senior airman keifer human was last seen leaving his home in dover. his pickup truck was found parked on a bridge. yesterday police say a fisherman discovered his body on the banks of the delaware canal. investigators did not say how he died. his family lives in florida and that is where he will be buried. >> ♪ >> gunfire and explosions rang out in several brussels neighborhoods today as police carried out more raids connected to this week's bombing there. all of this comes as u.s. secretary of state john kerry was in belgium as a show of american solidarity and morning. abc's marci gonzalez live in new york city. you've got the latest on all this. >> reporter: yeah, that's right, brian and prosecutors say those raids today are connected to the ones last night in paris that they claim foiled another terror attack as the search continues for two of the brussels suspects. dramatic raids and arrests in belgium. an ongoing determined over to the track down anyone with links to the deadly attacks in brussels. but the two surviving terrorists who helped carry out the bombings still on the run including this man, shown with the two suicide bombers at the airport moments before this. the horrific aftermath of this scene where new york residents lex and sasha pinkowski were among those killed. the dutch brother and sister pictured on facebook on the phone with their family when the bombs went off. still missing this couple from tennessee justin and stephanie schultz and among the survivors, american missionary mason wells who was also at the scene of the boston marathon bombing and near paris at the time of the attacks there. >> i don't know if i was going under like you said. i was definitely fortunate to have escaped with the injuries that i escaped with at the airport being very close to the bombs. >> reporter: secretary of state john kerry in belgium meeting with officials and honoring the 300 people injured and 31 who were killed. >> it is with irreplaceable loss in mind that we will renew our vow to come together against a common enemy in order to keep our people safe. >> reporter: and the state department says two americans are among the dead. we're told they were spouses of u.s. personnel in europe. their names have not yet been released. reporting live marci gonzalez, channel6 "action news." brian, back to you. >> thank you. the pentagon confirmed today that the second in command of isis is now dead. defense secretary ash carter says the u.s. special forces successfully carried out the attack on a senior islamic state leader known as haji iman. officials say he was killed within the last two days in syria and he was involved in oversight terror group's finances. >> the removal of this isil leader will hamper the organization's ability to conduct operations both inside and outside of iraq and syria. >> now, carter did not say how he was killed but a top american official says the raid was carried out on the ground and not by airstrikes. >> a person is dead after being hit by an amtrak train this morning. chopper6 hd flew over the train around 10:00 a officials say train 185 was heading from new york to washington, d.c. at the time. passengers and crew members on board the train were not hurt. the incident forced septa to cancel some services out of wilmington. and today pennsylvania's secretary of transportation confirmed 70 miles per hour speed limits will be coming to the pennsylvania turnpike in may but penndot still isn't sure where to increase the speed limits. officials say they're in the process of conducting studies with the turnpike commission. they say areas already posted with 65 miles per hour will likely feature the new speed limit because those areas are already deemed straight line highway and are not curvy. >> many people off school and work today in recognition of good friday but of course would be a nice little easter treat, wouldn't it? well, unfortunately check out the heavy traffic here on 95 both directions really but especially on the southbound side, brian and sharrie, from just past the airport through this point on down to 320 in delaware county. we expect the northbound volume to build even more over the coming hours as people head up to the wells fargo center for the big basketball games tonight but right now the northbound side headed toward the airport doesn't look as bad as that southbound side with plenty of business friday afternoon volume. and in center city this is the vine street expressway also quite crowded here in both directions. eastbound a little extra heavy as you come off the schuylkill out toward 95 because there's a disabled vehicle blocking a lane. it is good friday but it's not great on these roads. several accidents in the suburbs. if you're headed out on the pennsylvania turnpike, we just talked about those speed limit changes but things look good this afternoon, speeds in the 60's and 50's there on the northeast extension for your ride. in east sham township burlington county a crash along evesham road by route 73 where speeds there around the old marlton circle are in the 20's. in maurice township cumberland county route 29 shut down because of an accident near port elizabeth cumberland road. stick with 47 delsea drive. going down 55 to head down the shore for the holiday weekend go ahead, speeds there are in the mid 60's. let's grab the i'm pad do the commuter report on this friday afternoon. getting reports of a minor crash along 76, the schuylkill westbound close to girard avenue. it's off to the side. minor, not a big deal but plenty of slow speeds you can see them there just 21 miles per hour as you pass fantastic. such a great tradition. alicia thank you. verizon is the latest company to fall victim to hackers. cyber criminals were able to steal contact information from about one and a half million business customers. the hackers targeted the verizon enterprise solutions unit which provides it services to other big companies. verizon is in the process of notifying everyone who was affected. a chinese company will pay up for selling brand name dee humidifiers that caught fire in people's house. bree electric has agreed to a $15 million penalty from the u.s. consumer product safety commission. regulators alleged they knowingly made the faulty devices and sold them to other companies like frigidaire ge and kenmore who in turn sold them under their own brand names. the units had been recalled and had been sold at popular stores like home depot. if you watched netflix recently you might have noticed something different like slower video speed. according to the wall street journal netflix has been lowering the quality of its video for can customers who use the service via at&t and verizon. netflix said it made the change so customers would not exceed their data usage. >> this weekends tourists and locals are heading to downtown washington, d.c. to get a glimpse of the city's famous cherry blossoms. an estimated one and a half million people are expected to visit flowering trees over the next few days. japan gifted 3,000 cherry trees to washington, d.c. in 1912 as a symbol of friendship with the united states. >> they're so beautiful. great thing to go see if you get a chance to do it. of course we have a lot of them around here, too. on that note we're seeing some of the trees around our parts start to bud because temperatures are changing. >> yes, spring has been here all week. now let's head over to adam for another check of the forecast. >> despite we saw a lot of cloud cover once again it hit 70 across much of the area. as we look live on sky6 in cape may still kind of dreary looking with that low lying cloud cover, kind of an overcast sky, a couple sprinkles to the north of cape may but as you go west of philadelphia in berks county here live right now at bear creek resort still seeing some patches of snow on the slopes but the sun is out in full force now west of philadelphia you can see there are the shadows of the trees kind of on the sidewalk there so that sun is returning from the west to the east right before the sun sets. as we look at some of the numbers presently in philadelphia right now sitting at 71 degrees, 70 trenton, near 70 in wilmington, 67 millville. atlantic city airport 68 degrees with that cloud cover but notice lancaster and reading, between 63, 64 and it's sunny there, so why is it cooler? well, as we take a look at the winds notice in southern new jersey they're out of the southerly direction. we're starting to push those winds now out of the northwestly direction in laces like reading and lancaster and speeds you can-like 20 to 23 miles an hour sustained. that is the cooler air that is flooding in after a can cold front has passed through. that cold front is now off the coast but that cooler air is lagging a few hours behind but notice the breaks in the cloud cover especially west of philadelphia so that will continue with its trend as we go into the overnight hours. tonight it does turn chilly. we go back to 33 in lancaster, 35 in reading, forty four allentown, 38 millville. turning cooler as the stars take over and the clouds depart. future tracker6 as we get into tomorrow afternoon notice not much in the way of any clouds. full sunshine, much cooler, though, upper 50's north and west, 60 philadelphia, 59 wilmington, 56 in millville. then as we go into easter sunday morning for sunrise services there will be a lot of clouds around, 41 degrees and it is a chilly start to your easter morning. 43 at 8 o'clock and then going to 50 at 11:00 as some sunshine begins to return but as we take a look at future tracker in the wee hours of easter morning at 2:00 a.m., it's dry, it's clear but watch what happens easterly winds take over and in time for the morning hours, say, 7, 8 o'clock, the clouds roll in from the ocean, it's a cool start but then as we get into sunday afternoon for easter, we start to break some of that cloud cover apart, it turns sunnier in the afternoon, 61 philadelphia, 59 allentown, so still not a bad easter afternoon. your four day at 4:00 forecast we'll see sunshine stick around tomorrow but not as warm 60 degrees. don't get too worried if you wake up easter sunday morning and it looks cloudy and dreary. some sun will return in the afternoon and warm at 62. a rainy monday on tap, maybe a thunderstorm at 63 and then it turns breezy, cooler "action news" reporter john rawlins live in the neighborhood now with what he learned today. john. >> reporter: not a lot of details at this point brian. the investigation is ongoing. however, we can tell you the 16-year-old who was shot, the teenager who was shot has been released from the hospital and she is now at home. but we're told she is in pain and she just doesn't want to talk at this point about what occurred at 11:30 last night. >> young lady 16 years of age standing with her dog outside offer home on the 4,000 block of north seventh street. she hears a loud pop and realizes she's shot in the left leg and thigh area. she ran inside of her home called 911. >> reporter: emergency responders arrived and the 16-year-old shooting victim was taken to temple hospital in stable condition. today we are told investigators began looking for video camera systems that might lead them to who pulled the trigger. at this point the motive of the shooter is not known nor is it known where the shooter was located when the shot was fired. all that will be the focus of detectives. >> looking to interview any witnesses that may have heard anything, seen anything as well as looking for a video of this incident or anything remotely close to it so that we can piece together what took place out there last night. >> reporter: there are quite a few surveillance cameras in this immediate area but so far it doesn't appear they're either pointed in the right direction or close enough to provide any critical information. that could change however. in the meantime the police are asking in anybody knows anything about the shooter or the motive behind this shooting to please get in touch with them at east developments live in hunting park, john rawlins channel6 "action news." sharrie. >> thank you john. now to an arrest in the death of a puppy found in montgomery county. charles mccafferty the fourth is facing criminal charges including animal cruelty. upper dublin township police say his staffordshire terrier was dumped on the side of the road in a metal cage covered in plastic on march ninth. investigators say the dog had been suffocated. meantime a man is recovering after being stabbed in the stomach this morning in the feltonville section of philadelphia. police say the victim was leaving the columbian bakery when someone he knew slashed him with a knife. the suspect is on the run and no word of a motive as of yet. >> a fire at a south philadelphia refinery caused some alarm. fire crews responded to the philadelphia emergency solutions planter just after noon. turns out some pipe tracks had caught fire inside that plant. firefighters did manage to get everything contained. the good news is there were no injuries as a result of this. >> many families preparing for this holiday weekends probably have plans to be outside. >> yeah, they do. right now there's a lot of cloud cover and a few showers in the eastern part of new jersey. pull up weather three for me. we can see some of those showers that are pushing into eastern parts of new jersey around mays landing as well as hammonton, oceanville to the north and southern parts of burlington county, there is where we're starting to see the last edge of some of those showers that are passing through but at philadelphia international airport there's a lot of clouds above but those clouds are beginning to break apart with your temperature right now sitting at 71 degrees at the airport, very mild there and those numbers are going to continue to fall as we go through the evening hours with that westerly wind. atlantic city a lot of cloud cover, 60 degrees there. and then again some of those showers will skirt just to the north of atlantic city with a northwesterly wind. and up in the poconos lake wallenpaupack sunshine is returning but notice the temperature. it is much cooler at 59 degrees with that northwesterly wind. we'll talk about those cooler winds can coming in overnight tonight and as those cooler winds push in temperatures will drop over the upcoming weekend. we'll let you know all about it can coming up with that easter forecast as well in the seven day in just a little bit. >> thanks adam. speaking of easter for many western christians today is good friday and worshipers around the world are commemorating jesus' crucifixion. the action cam was in south philadelphia as catholics from annunciation bbm parish reenacted the stations of the cross. the procession and readings were entirely in spanish and volunteers from the community actorred out the various roles. the group stopped at each corner to pause for prayer. it ended on the steps of the church at tenth and dickinson streets. the action cam also stopped by good friday services at the white rock baptist church in west philadelphia. the preacher there talked about the symbolic importance of jesus' crucifixion and how worshipers should focus on forgiveness. it was a similar scene late this afternoon at the cathedral basilica of saint peter and paul. church leaders gathered in prayer. three hours of meditation including confession got under way at noon and then the passion of the lord mass started at 3 o'clock. >> meantime area nurseries and florists are ready for the easter holiday rush as well. the action cam stopped by the chestnut hill plow and garden slop as employees put finishing touches on their displays from tulips and daffodils to lilies and lilacs they had everything ready to go and a sure sign that spring is hopefully here to stay. speaking of spring, spring break is here for many families and going out of town might not be an option but now a popular attraction is opened right here in our own backyard. there's a war at the south jersey shore this weekends. more than 2,000 wrestlers are battling it out in the national folk style wrestling claims. wildwoods convention center is hosting competitors from 20 states for this tournament it runs all day today and tomorrow. >> philadelphia police honored some fallen heroes by giving become to their families today. the loved ones of officers who died in the line of duty were invited to a special breakfast at the fop lodge in northeast philadelphia. police commissioner richard ross thanked the families for their sacrifice and reminded them that every single officer in the city is now there to support them. >> and still ahead on "action news," a man dishes out big bucks for a bottle of salad dressing. we're talking about $1,000 here. but it from accuweather when "action news" it's a 4:00 continues. >> ♪ >> winds are making it very hard for crews to battle a wildfire in kansas. the flames are quickly burning through hundreds of square miles of brush. few people live out there but the fire has destroyed at least one home. hundreds of firefighters are trying to get the flames under control and keep them from spreading even further. officials are sending a plane up to see exactly how much land has burned. a fiery collision forced officials to evacuate a small town in minnesota. people have been out of their homes since yesterday and won't be allowed back until tonight at the earliest. a freight train collided with a propane truck as it tried to cross the tracks. well, it burst into flames and now the propane is being slowly vented and burned off. two crew members on the train were hurt but not seriously. amazingly the truck driver was not hurt at all. >> to georgia. police officers are off the job after letting bravado get the best of them. the officers from the atlanta area allegedly got into a physical fight over who could run faster. other officers had to break up that fight but not before joseph tyler apparently pulled a gun on steven green. well, tyler has been reassigned and green has been suspended. as the investigation continues. also in georgia a teacher has resigned after surveillance video shows her knocking a student down. the teacher put her knee into the little boy's back causing him to fall. the boy's mom says that child has special needs and just returned -- rather, just turned four years olds this week. the child was not hurt. the teacher who does appear to check on the boy after the incident had been in the classroom for 20 years. >> houston texans defensive end devon still is celebrating a special milestone. today marks one year since his daughter lea beat cancer he took to instagram and posted this today. march 25th marks a year of her being in remission a day she was given a second chance at life. he went on to say keep fighting and keep inspiring, #still strong. lea was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2014 and was treated right here in philadelphia. >> we love to see her smile. >> big talkers now and the average bottle of ranch dressing goes for about three bucks. one man in texas spent $1,000 for a bottle of hidden valley ranch. what? yes, and the story is going wildly viral. that bottle had been sitting inside a pizza shop there in texas for the last five years. the restaurant will in it a wooden case because the rule there is no ranch ever unless you're willing to pay a grand for it. you know that whole ranch dressing on pizza thing. they're not having it. so, the bottle and the price tag became part of a fundraiser for a local humane society that burned down. the man who bought it, look at him there, says he doesn't plan on opening that $1,000 bottle or using the dressing. it has been sitting around for five years. instead he'll frame it as a reminder to help others in times of need. so, little charity angle. it is the beautiful touching moment between two little friends captured during nap time that is melting hearts all over social media. a reminder of what love is all about p through the eyes of a child. the picture shows two young girls in mississippi, one black, one white holding hands while sleeping on their mats in a classroom. presbyterian day school posted the picture on facebook. the caption is a bible verse that reads beloved let us love one another for love is from god and whoever loves has been born of god and knows god. just in time for this easter weekend. that post and that beautiful picture have both been shared thousands of times this afternoon. finally, this is the little lady whose luscious locks have catapulted her to internet fame. her name is isabelle and when mom mackenzie posted her perfectly coifed full head of newborn hair on social media people just went wild. she has since inspired numerous conversations and memes starring her hair. and it's also inspired our "action news" parents to share pictures of their beautiful babies with gorgeous manes. this is jemaah right here and mom ashley shared this shot of her. i mean adults are jealous of the style that she has rocking right there. how cute is little nolan, mom lindsey says he had his first haircut at three months old and sharrie. hairy situation this afternoon as so many people try and get out of town for the holiday weekend. it's been busy all weekend long here on the schuylkill expressway. right now just some moderate traffic. you can see the sluggishness eastbound into center city and the vine street expressway. few people here stacking up waiting to exit from the westbound side to go to girard avenue, maybe a late visit to the zoo this afternoon although i think they're closing shortly. on the big picture we've seen worse speeds on 95, but still just 15 miles per hour as you travel northbound through the work zone at girard. broken down vehicle on the eastbound vine at 95 has cleared out but there's a crash in fairhill at second and lehigh. and i hope you're enjoying the falls bridge, opened of course yesterday afternoon so it's back in business. go ahead and uses it throughout this holiday weekend. we'll see extra traffic in just a bit on 95 northbound and southbound headed toward broad street and the wells fargo center because of the big ncaa games happening tonight. right now in middletown township delco by the old granite run mall a crash along route one baltimore pike close to 352 middletown road. south coventry chester county a fuel spill along 100 at 23 so that's a good area to avoid. willow grove by grub burger bar watch out for a wreck along easton red at york road this entire weekends. if you do them tomorrow, sunny bright, fairly mild despite it's a lot cooler than today. a little cloudy on sunday morning but again it stays dry. >> great deal. >> as we take a look at double scan live radar we had some showers and a couple quick downpours that passed through part of the area with a cold front throughout the day today but that sun is returning west of philadelphia and we're still hanging onto some showers and again a few downpours north of oceanville right along the garden state parkway as you head from atlantic county, southern parts of burlington county, then into ocean county and they'll scrape across long beach island and clip brigantine here in the next 15 or so minutes and once this pushes off the coast, we're good to go for the weekend precipitation-wise. it's still mild. 71 philadelphia, 70's trenton, 67 millville, near 70 at the atlantic city airport but as we look to the west, it's 63 in lancaster, 64 in reading. winds are now starting to push out of that northwesterly direction. you can see them moving here bringing in cooler air while we're still dealing with a southwesterly wind in southern parts of new jersey where the warm air is lingering but as we look at satellite and radar, there's a front off the coast. it will remain off the coast for this weekend. again, clouds lag all the way west, at least some cloud cover, high cloud cover, that sun can still penetrate through but there's a break in the midwest and that's going to be pushing in here with high pressure for the beginning of the week. so, for tonight, the skies clear, turns cooler, 34 in the suburbs to 42 degrees for center city and then high pressure wedges itself in northern new england tomorrow. a very bright start to the weekend but cooler at 60 degrees with that wind coming in out of the northeast but even though it's not 70 plus degrees like today, that's still above average for this time of year. then as the high fades we're going to see a lot of clouds filter in off the ocean especially easter sunday morning and then breaking sunshine in the afternoon as we try to break up some of that cloud cover but it stays mild at 62 with low pressure to the south, low pressure to the west behavior themselves and not pushing in here until monday so your easter weekend forecast and specifically for easter sunday, sunrise services, very cloudy a-slight chill in the air at 41. then a little brighter by noon and then a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon as temperatures go from the 50's back into the lower 60's in the afternoon. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast 60's both days saturday and sunday, brighter saturday compared to easter sunday but still not bad. on monday, though, we're still around 62, 63 degrees. but as we look at future tracker in the morning some heavy rain begins to push in with low pressure so it's a wet start to the new work week and then breezy, cooler with some sunshine on tuesday, 56. and as we get into wednesday, sunny, pleasant, 60 degrees. again, still a little above norm and then we jump into the 70's for one day on tuesday before more showers arrive at the end of next week with a temperature of 68 degrees. so, it is dry through the upcoming weekend. just a little cloud cover after your early sunday morning. >> sounds good. >> we'll take it. >> adam thank you. "action news" big board with a first look at what's coming our way. hi, melissa. >> hi, sharrie. we certainly have a brighter start to our weekend on saturday but as you mentioned a bit of a damp start and we're still tracking a spotty shower well east of philadelphia down in south jersey there in surf city southern ocean county we're starting to watch this activity move out from a west-east direction. it was all part avenue bigger picture with a frontal boundary that moved through earlier today. you could see it on satellite six along with action radar and most of the shower activity is starting to exit to our east. we're starting to carve out some clearing skies there in allentown and the lehigh valley and this will continue to sag off to the south and east with there northerly wind as we go throughout the rest of tonight. despite the clouds and the moisture overhedda was still quite mild coming in at 73 in philadelphia, 70 in trenton, 70 in wilmington but a little cooler to our north and west, 62 in allentown, same thing in reading as allentown and our northwest suburbs are dealing with that dry but cooler northerly wind that helps to dry out the atmosphere just in time for
