conference and talked about the decision to cut ties with kelly. ducis rogers is here with more. >> reporter: brian and sharrie, jeffrey lurie says this is one of the most difficult seasons he had to endure in his 21 seasons as the owner of the eagles, he did not like the progress or the way the team was headed. there was no talk of stripping hours and keeping him on as coach. lurie says the atmosphere was one that chip knew he would be let go. one year ago lurie gave chip the keys to the franchise, his moves mostly bombed and in the end have that power ultimately led to kelly's undoing. >> if you want to have the powers, be accountable, there say risk involved allowing chip to have that kind of say over player transactions. however, risk-reward, sometimes the risk don't work and in this case it didn't work. >> as for the timing of the firing with one game to george he said he did it now to get a head start on the coaching search and they will spearhead that search that begins out there in center city, and once again showers are arriving in the next few hours. as we take a look at this mild but dismal stretch in philadelphia and basically everywhere in the viewing area, 10 straight days of mainly cloudy skies and the sky is trying to brighten up here and there and overall the clouds dominated the last full sunny day was back on december 20th, but if you look at the four day you'll see a lot of sunshine and in fact, with this warm december we'll call it historic warmth, temperatures are running close to 14 degrees above normal. that is when you average the daytime high and overnight lows, when you look at the number two, three and four, when you rank the years typically you rank the year by a degree or degrees, and we smash it by over 6 degrees, this is unusual to have temperatures this far above normal this long. as we look at the numbers, 10 degrees above norm 52 in philadelphia and wilmington 50 and upper 40s to the northern and west, we are dealing with patchy fog, allentown half mile visibility and one and a half in lancaster and most of the area is blanketed by the fog again once the rain pushes in, to the south most of the heavy rain misses us but we get clipped by this and the heaviest amounts are east of the philadelphia, between now and 10:00 we start to see the spotty, light showers and temperatures stay on the warm side overall on the low to mid-50s, midnight mild near 60 near the shore, 51 philadelphia and upper 40s to the north and west and by 7:30 tomorrow morning the fog will break up and the sunshine will return and temperatures not bad between 40 and 46 degrees, so what to expect? the period of light rain, a .10 to .25 inch, delaware and new jersey more than a quarter inch, and it ends before the morning rush. if people are counter sued many of the women that have civil cases pending against him but today the showbiz legend was on the defensive in criminal court, he is accused of a crime presumed innocent until proven guilty. an incredible spectacle, for ages one of the most renew and respected figures in showbiz, turning himself in to authorities to face charges for sexual assault. said to have taken place at his cheltenham home. >> on two other occasions before the incidents leading to the criminal charge in this case, mr. cosby made two sexual advances at her. that were rejected. >> the d.a. here reopened the investigation after it was dismissed years ago by former d.a. bruce caster who maintains that constand's claim lacked evidence and that her statements are inconsistent, in the last year more than 40 women have come forward to publically accuse cosby of plying them with pills and wine. cosby and his philadelphia lawyer left the proceedings today without comment -- >> bill cosby returned to his time he has actually faced charges, okay vernon thank you. pennsylvania's victim advocate group released a statement. today's announcements of criminal charges, against bill cosby serve as true vindication and validation of over 40 brave women that came forward with similar stories of sexual assault and went on to commend the montgomery county district attorney's office for not giving up on this case. and the smithsonian museum says it won't lead to changes for a bill cosby exhibit there. it includes african art from his private collection and will remain open. museum officials posted a disclaimer nearby saying they do not condone his alleged behavior and gave over $700,000 to the museum as a gift and the exhibit is set to close in 2016. we have more on this historic story coming up are following today, eagles owner, jeffrey lurie is speaking out one day after firing chip kelly, ducis rogers is in the sports center with more on what lurie had to say. >> jeffrey lurie desperately wants to win and didn't like the direction that chip kelly was going. he knew the risk and conceded today those risks did not pan out. lurie called this season his most difficult in the 21 years he has owned the franchise and he has been taking the temperatures of the players and does not feel like kelly lost the locker room. he leaves only one playoff appearance and zero playoff wins. jeffrey lurie was accused in the past of hanging on to coaches too long and he was not going to make that mistake. >> i look forward to watching chip succeed wherever he goes and i think he really will, and i thanks. philadelphia police are searching for a gunman seen on surveillance video firing his weapon, this video shows the suspect walking with two other people and takes out a gun and opens fire before running away. this happened sunday on the at hundred block of spruce street in cobb's creek and offices found a 21-year-old victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound and is listed in critical condition, police are searching for the shooter and the two people he was seen walking with. diabetes patients that have problems with hire vision have new hope to save their sight. monica weekday schedule. and 95 near the tin pan alley tavern no problems on the turnpike but changes go into affect the opening of the the neshaminy toll plaza. we'll talk more about them in the coming a dense fog advisory setting up. as we look at satellite and radar, most of the heavy rain sliding to the sound and we'll get clipped by the northern fringe of this, as we look at future tracker 6, by 10:00 and 11:00, that is when most of the showers overspread, warm 50 in philadelphia and 60 in wildwood tonight and upper 40s to the north and west and by 4:00 a.m., the rain moves out and we'll still have low clouds and fog and mild temperatures and then once the wind kicks up and the sunrises we'll push the fog away and sun tomorrow. yes finally sun through most of the day and 50 degrees with the wins from the northwest, 8 to 16 miles per hour. and tomorrow is new years eve, it's partly cloudy during the evening showers at 6:00, 45 degrees and not bad at midnight. 40 degrees and windchills in the mid-30s, a couple of layers needed if you are out on the town tomorrow night and then new years day for the mummers parade it's bright and breezy and temperatures in the lower 40s and windchills near freezing to start the parade and upper 30s in the afternoon. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, the sun returns tomorrow and is here to stay through the entire seven-day
