I guess we mentioned quite a few thunderstorms heavy downpours moving through right now as we get another check of the accuweather forecast. Lets go over to meteorologist adam joseph. Very scattered very hit or miss but most of the thunderstorms right now throughout the state of delaware and parts of New Castle County and kent county and that cluster of downpours in Chester County and parts of salem county beginning to weaken and fall apart. In act as we look at double scan live a little closer still a little yellow left over near west chester. No Lightning Strikes in this entire Vantage Point right down to women to. The rain really just west of media, not a drop of rain for philadelphia, the airport or even most of Delaware County this afternoon and as we slide to the south there you can see a cluster of downpours and thunderstorms. In fact, 60 Lightning Strikes in the last 15 minutes. , see current Lightning Strike to the north of middletown and also to the south of smyrna and west of dover near merry dale pushing away from delaware. These are very slow moving. Really cant track them because theyre kind of popping up not moving and releasing one or 2inches of lane in localized spots. As we take a look at the temperatures a big contrast from east to west. That easterly wind has pulled those temperatures down into the 60s for trenton and beach haven. 77 in philadelphia and 82 degrees in lancaster and its that easterly wind that is choking the storms and not allowing them to push east of Chester County right now and also east of salem county. In fact, take a look at the dewpoints. Any time its between 65 and 70 it is very muggy and it helps to fuel the atmosphere for those downpours and you can see the 70s to the west. That is why the downpours and thunderstorms are forming there and not eastward because it is much drier in philadelphia to the shore. In fact as we take a look at Storm Tracker six live double scan that little cluster there and then we have more to the west were awaiting a cold front but its very scattered and nothing organized over the next 24 hours. Tonight its 50s north and east 60s elsewhere. Very warm and muggy with those scattered storms around. Low rick of Severe Weather for the Lehigh Valley trenton north tomorrow with the possibility of strong winds with any of the thunderstorms and in fact as we take a look at future tracker at 6 oclock tomorrow morning the biggest concentration is north of philadelphia, not to the south tomorrow morning and then as the cold front arrives tomorrow afternoon at 5 oclock its sun and clouds, its very warm and again you just see some scattered downpours and thunderstorms. Were not going to watch an entire line pass through the area. So as we take a look at the four day at 4 00 its warm with a few scattered storms much like today. Tomorrow at 87 degrees. Bright breezy and those dewpoints fall off the boards here into the 30s and 40s so its very comfortable on wednesday with a high of just 72. And a lot of clouds around the city south thursday. In it sun will be confined to the Lehigh Valley. Chilly for this time of year, 70 degrees and then low humidity the sun is back if full force friday at 78 degrees so some gardens this afternoon are saying whoa, whats this . This is way too much water at once but 90 percent of the area not a drop of rain today. So very hit or miss. You got it adam. Thanks very much. Lets send things over to alicia at the big board with a look at business news. Yes taking a look at the closing numbers today. A local trouble traded in the boardroom for the barnyard. What made them decide to radically change their lives going from the hustle and bustle of new york city to a goat farm in Chester County. And the wrong target. Juniata park man turns the table on two would be robbers pulling his on gun. But we begin here at 4 30 with a president ial announcement on the Nations Police force made right here in the tristate area. Barack obama used his appearance in camden to reveal that his administration will no longer allow federal agencies to provide certain military equipment like bayonets and grenade launchers to local police forces. The president says such an image sends the wrong message to the community that the police is trying to protect and the relationship between the community and police is exactly the reason the president was here in the first place today. New jersey correspondent Nora Muchanic live in camden this afternoon with the details on all of this. Hi nora. Reporter hi there brian. You know, president s dont really come to camden so this is a big day for this city getting positive recognition for change thats happening here. Its a milestone and president obama says the city, the residents and the county Police Department richly deserve it. Ive come here to camden to do something that might have been unthinkable just a few years ago. And thats to hold you up as a symbol of promise for the nation. Reporter that was the president at the Kroc Community Center on harrison avenue praising the results of camden countys twoyearold Metro Police Division which has cut murders almost in half and reduced other Violent Crime in the city. After touring Police Headquarters with cleve Scott Thompson obama acknowledged that Police Reforms here are still a work in progress but that camden is onto something that Police Departments elsewhere should look at and adopt including technology and Community Policing where officers walk a beat and get to know the community. When you match courage with compassion, with care and understanding of the Community Like weve seen here in camden some really outstanding things can begin to happen. Reporter the president s visit is a huge shot in the arm for camden long considered one of americas poorest and most dangerous cities. This city for far too long has been painted in a negative fashion. Things are moving in the right direction. Theres a rebirth going on in this city and the residents deserve what theyre getting today which is a pat on the back from the president. Reporter residents who came to see the president are excited. We need a lot of assistance from all government officials and if it starts from the top and works down then i think we have a fighting chance of bringing the city back to a good healthy place. Reporter now before he gave a speech the president met in the gym here with some officers and some youngsters including members of the camden High Basketball Team who personally have been touched by violence. As the president said, theres still work to do. The metro police force has a high turnover rate but they are working on that but in his view the president is saying that Community Policing is the way to go to try to reduce tensions between police and the public nationwide. Live in camden, im Nora Muchanic, channel6 action news. Brian. All right, big day there nora. Thanks very much. Lots of places getting a little too much of it right now. But the problem is there are no winds to store these downpours and thunderstorms. They sit over the same location and not sharing the rain with communities around them unfortunately. As we take a look at double scan live radar right now probably 90 percent of us are in the dry and just a few of us seeing those downpours and a couple of thunderstorms in the state of delaware. In fact well go down to delaware cause this is the biggest concentration of downpours and a few storms with six Lightning Strikes in the last 15 minutes just to the west of port penn. Not raining there but you can hear the thunder in the distance down to townsend and just on the verge of smyrna seeing a few light showers. Theyre barely moving to the south and east and even south of here seeing one thunderstorm just to the west of 13 to the south and west of canterbury and milford. If it holds together get a little bit of rain there as well but again slowly drifting and because theyre moving so slowly in that and that particular one just to the south and west of dover, one to 2 inches of rain being released out of this particular thunderstorm so a flood advisory until 6 45.
