february in 36 years but if you look at philadelphia as a whole for the entire year it's the coldest temperature in 21 years. and winter weather advisories go into effect. if we break them down for you, the north western suburbs, lehigh valley and lancaster 25 to 30 below and windchills tomorrow morning 10 to 15 below in the far southern areas we'll talk much more about the temperatures that try pradelli is live in center city with the details on this. chad? >> reporter: shirleen these are people that basically froze to death, i spoke with the medical examiner that did most of the autopsy and i says most of the deaths could have been prevented. these bitter colds claimed half dozen lives across the area. a few were found on the streets, like an 86-year-old man in allentown that died just steps from his door, and dr. walter hoffman did the autopsy on five of the bodies. >> these are the folks that fall through the cracks and it is very frustrating to have preventible deaths and no one does anything about it. >> dr. hoffman says that hypothermia can set in within an hour and more quickly in water earlier this week an elderly couple lost heat to their home. >> and they stayed in a hotel and he got concerned that the house was empty and someone may break in so he moved back into the house and she stayed one night and came back to the hotel, and came back again and he was founded. >> this is a community effort for people to look in after their elderly neighbors. cheryl is a nurse with the philadelphia corporation with aging she urges friends and family and neighbors to facility yesterday the conflict was sparked by a prank when vazquez tried to pull a chair out from underneath him. the pair got into a physical fight, that is when he killed vazquez before stabbing himself one person is after a crash on the blue route, it happened this morning in ridley township. the car when off the highway and up the embankment. police have not told us the victim's name or what caused the crash. today marks ten years since a local couple vanished without a trace and despite a decade since their disappearance their loved ones made a plea. this was a heart-wrenching day may be more willing to help them out now. >> ten years is too long to wait for justice for two people that did nothing wrong and did not deserve this. >> her son richard and his friend danielle disappeared. they left a bar and headed to his pickup truck and simply vanished. investigators say it was not an accident, and no crime of opportunity. they say they were the victims of a professional hit job. >> this just didn't happen we feel it was an orchestrated act. two people and a truck do not simply go missing. >> but who would want them dead . no one is ruled out as a suspect at this time. we are going back and looking at the leads we have covered in the past. >> the fbi is dedicating new resources to re-examine the evidence collected so far with fresh eyes but they admit the key suspect is now in custody be the family is returning donations. and he sprung out of jail and how he got out of his cell and into the cleaning closet in the first place. and a woman remembers walking out a dallas bar, what she doesn't remember is how she wound up half naked inside of a cardboard box at a landfill. but the aspiring rapper accused of killing a woman by using illegal silicone injections in 2011. >> reporter: padge victoria winslow testified to the judge that she was the mike angelo of butt injections. a 20-year-old aspiring dancer from london died after getting silicone injections in her backside. padge winslow was a performer, who did silicone injections on the side. she charged about $2000 a session and now winslow is on trial accused of murdering a client. an aspiring video dancer from london. winslow told the judge everyone was calling me the michelangelo of buttocks injections. i made lots of money in lots of ways. in 2011, they met winslow at the philadelphia international airport for a second treatment. her assistant testified she performed her usual procedure, filling the buttocks with silicone and then closing it with crazy glue, she claimed chest pains and was taken to the hospital and later died. she fled and spent months on the run. >> and the prosecutor told the jury today that the silicone was the same substance used to make cars and military tanks, this trial is expected to last several weeks and the jury is weighing third degree murder and manslaughter and other charges. >> thank you sara. police say that a bear man tried to kill a wawa employee this morning. police say that reed walked into the beaver brook wawa and tried to order something from the deli when he was told he could not get what he wanted he threw a coffee stand at her. and went around the counter and started to strangle her. reed was arrested after the incident and is facing charges including strangulation and making terroristic threats. the police are looking for a man behind and assault at a pizza shop. the worker got into a fight and started throwing punches and he even threw the computer off the counter at the worker, anybody with information should call police. from the delaware newsroom police say that a school bus driver was using her cell phone when she rear ended another vehicle, she is now suspects following a minor accident on mill town road, no studentses were hospitalized and one child is being checked out by a doctor today. the police cited a doctor for inattentive driving and she is a long time employee with angry driver followed her home and killed her. but police say she was shot after she went looking for that driver with her son who was armed. a manhunt is underway for an inmate that escaped in idaho kids and some snow over the weekend, they will be very happy. but the rest of us not so much. as we look at double scan live radar all is quiet at this point and again the cold arctic air continues to flood in from the north and west and the winds brutal cutting right through you at 40 miles per hour and 30 or so in trenton and 33 in wilmington and even to the south in dover at the shore around the 30 miles per hour range. that is dropping the windchills, right now it feels like 1 in philadelphia and the same in wilmington and now zero for the entire state of delaware allentown and reading and it's poconos it feels like 5 below zero. we had the explosion of clouds the sunshine that is stronger now as we get into the second half of february that interacts with the very cold aloft and we get the instability clouds to develop, some will fall apart overnight tonight and we can blame this air because of siberia and the north pole and the cross polar flow, this originates here and is sent down to the hudson bay a piece of that polar vortex and if it can buckle down, it's dense and heavy and it can flood down to the south and extensive cover from the north and nothing stops it from pushing it to the south that is why we see the record cold from siberia and the north pole to the lower 48, tomorrow morning we are forecasting the record low of 1 and allentown tying the record low of 2 below and expecting that record to be smashed in trenton the old record the same for wilmington and the record is 0 but not a record but dangerously cold there and the windchills tomorrow morning close to 15 to 20 degrees below zero, we recover by 20 degrees or so in the afternoon but still very uncomfortable, with windchills in the single digits in the afternoon with full sunshine. the
