surveillance video captured the moments when a suspect forced his way into a south philadelphia home. it happened on january 4 and on the 600 block of climber street. the man broke into the house and took two commuters and a pair of sneakers he was last seen walking down the same street. >> one man is in custody and at least three other suspects are on the run after an abduction and chase in philadelphia's port richmond section. police got a tip last night and staked out a shopping center and they witnessed a woman being forced into the vehicle, katherine scott has the full story. >> reporter: the victim was forced into the backseat of her own car at gun point and then the suspects took off driving, the police were in pursuit though and ended up on emery street where the suspects lost control of the toyota and took off on foot. today port richmond shopping center was quiet where last night a 25-year-old woman was abducted at gun point and shortly after 8:00 p.m. plain clothes narcotics officers were tipped off she would be abducted after work. >> that it would happen within minutes. >> in a red jeep cherokee and sure enough the jeep appeared with four to five people inside and saw two of the suspects approach the victims. they grabbed her and said we have your children and made a threat, i'm not sure what it was and they grabbed her and forced her into the vehicle and they took off and police in pursuit and the toyota sped up and spun out less than a half mile from emery street. the suspects got out of the car and jumped fences and they fled. the police launched a search about foot and by air. >> one suspect was picked up shortly after the red jeep cherokee was found nearby. the woman was safe and her children were fine. they say the suspects lied to her about having them and they believe the crime could be connected owe others in the area. the red jeep cherokee and the toyota were towed to the police graernl to be held as evidence. we have warmed up a big david murphy is outside on the terrace with the details from accuweather. >> we are under mainly cloudy skies here in philadelphia and a bit a breeze blowing and cool enough for a jacket and having set all of that we are looking atwell above average temperatures this afternoon. that won't last so maybe today is the day you get out and enjoy it or get stuff done. stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you that a couple of light sprinkles and showers have begun to well up over the last hour. and south jersey and southern delaware another batch in the northern and western suburbs. the i-95 corridor will avoid all of that. you see the wide view on satellite shower activity welling up and most of that is off the coast than should spin out of here before too much longer and sunny breaks mixing with the clouds and the clouds probably dominating. 49 in philadelphia and the numbers have bounced up nicely and we get up into the low 50s up and down the i-95 corridor and down south in washington. a 17 miles per hour breeze in the region now and we expect the winds to generally speaking run 12 to 20 miles per hour. and that is not the kind of wind that will knock the wind off your kid's head and add to the chilly feel. we expect to get up to 51 for a high and we see the temperatures fall down to 43 at 6:00 and down to the 30s after that and 2:00 in the morning 37 and tomorrow morning at dawn i expect philadelphia's number to be down around 32 the freezing mark an indication that the colder air is on the way but not today. so guys if you want to go outside today i would definitely recommend a jacket pretty decent jacket in fact because we have the winds blowing through and the definitely cool and cloudy but better today than it will be over the next several days. >> the officers, the students (ed the attendees with gifts and sang songs and took part in a blessing. and the students at holy cross regional were busy giving back as part of several service projects they are doing this week, they assembled bags of toiletries to be delivered to ann's center in phoenixville and students in the third grade class wrote letters of thanks and encouragement to the paid $125 per game and we were paid in one lump sum, $1250 minus fines we would be fined for all sorts of things if you miss a number of practices you could be fined $40 for that and that comes out of weeks away. >> three days a week we have lifting and stuff and other days there are practices. >> before brian a sports medicine specialist says that jake's right to start training six to eight weeks before the season, the first steps build endurance through running or an exercise bike and lift weights to increase muscle strength. >> and boys or girls lacrosse, get the sticks in your hand. >> kids can focus on learning game skills not getting in shape. training can prevent injuries such as back problems and overuse issues. back injuries and hip injuries with two much activity on the muscle. >> freshman year i broke my shoulder when i played football sophomore year i broke that. >> he believed it would have been worse if he did not stay in condition. >> one in the weight room at all. have a lot of injuries. >> there is a lot of debate about year round athletes, the doctor says it's okay if kids switch sports if they are moving different muscle groups and change their workouts tomorrow. if you go for 51 in philadelphia and same in wilmington may get stuck in the mid to upper 40s and 49 degrees in cape may as we go through the rest of the afternoon and 50 holds through 2:00 and the 51 comes at 3:00 and after that we begin to dip. 6:00, 45 degrees and 42 by 8:00 and 10:00, 40 degrees and down into the 30s after that. and i expect an overnight low at dawn tomorrow of 32 in philadelphia. and some suburbs in the 20s. that cooler air will be waking you up tomorrow morning as you step outside. 42 is tomorrow afternoon's high and seasonable close to average high, lots of sunshine and groundhog day tomorrow and breezy with winds running west northwest 20 miles per hour. and it doesn't look like there is snow in the picture and high pressure and all the sunshine opening things up for us. we haven't had much snow this winter only 6 inches so far at philadelphia international. 59% of our normal snowfall and one stretch between january 8th and 29th where there was no measurable snow and as we look ahead a couple of blips here and there. nothing big coming for the next week or couple of weeks and then we'll see what happens in the second half of february into march. 51 is today's high and breezy and milder and breaks if possible. and a high down to 42 and then a shot of colder air comes in for friday and brisk and colder and 36 is the high on friday and could be a flurry around and back to sunny conditions and cold and a high of 35. and clouds increase on sunday and we get up to 37 and the chance of afternoon and evening snow showers the farther north you go through the region. probably better chance of seeing all snow. this doesn't look like a real strong system and probably won't produce a lot. but it's super bowl sunday you may want to
