announcement. >> through his teaching and philanthropy, over the years lou klein has helped countless temple students and they are renaming their school of media and communication to honor him. for decades lou klein made his mark on the broadcasting industry and they announce that their school of communication will take his name. it's fitting. >> no one deserves it more than lou klein, anyone that watched tv in the past 60 years were influenced by him. it not just honors klein's tv career but his commitment to the university. more than six decades of teaching at a historic multimillion-dollar gift from lou and janet klein. supported by the two additional seven digit gifts. he has been generous financially and given of his time. he has molded the lives of faculty and students and sent untold numbers of people into the television and media industry. >> it's a great experience. >> klein was one of channel 6's earliest employees and produced all kinds of shows including bandstand that went on to become american bandstand with dick clark. he also put carter on the air in captain noah and his magic arc. >> and bernie prazenica spoke of klein's work and the vast impact he has here and around the country and also on a personal level. >> i was a student of his back in temple if the late 70s and he was instrumental in helping me find my way in my career. and i have always looked towards him for advice. klein a penn graduate began teaching at temple in 1952 and program director on channel 6 when they launched their "action news" format in 1970, an executive and producer for phillies telecast and more. and supported temple through it all. >> today lou klein is in florida receiving a lifetime achievement award from the national association of national telephone association. which he founded. and a renaming of temple school will be in march. the delaware county family is out of a home and safe thanks to the use of their smoke detectors and the action cam was on the scene. firefighters were called out to report of the home burning after 7:30 this morning. >> on the final arrival the family was outside and their smoke detectors had gone off and they left their home. >> the fire marshall says when the firefighters arrived. the fire had consumed the second floor of the house and in the walls and roof. and several people are being thieves in action on video. in the city's queen village section on january 3rd. the suspects removed cell phones from a display case and ran off. both suspects tripped on their way out of the store. from our delaware newsroom. the christina school district in wilmington has named a new school superintendant. he is richard greg. and serves in aston, delaware he holds a masters degree from wilmington university. greg is also extensive experience in the classroom and as a school principal. and independence national historical park had more visitors last year than nearly three decades. the national park service says that 5 million people went to the park to see the liberty bell and tour independence hall and liberty square. they attribute the increase to visitors in part to the floodwaters topped the wheel of a city bus in houston. dangerous rain dumped water in the area. and a man was waist deep walking through a street and one highway is shut down due to the rising water and that bus is not going anywhere. in georgia a sinkhole nearly swallowed a large water truck the ground opened up under the 50,000 pound vehicle with the driver still inside. the truck was carrying 60,000 gallons water was left dangling in the air. officials are not sure what caused the 25 foot hole to open up. now the latest on the teenager abducted at birth and raised by her kidnapper, the she is speaking out about her ordeal and the woman she calls mom appeared in court and a 30-year kidnapping mystery in texas is finally solved. >> reporter: good afternoon right now the 18-year-old says down south. 48 degrees in cape may and 51 for your high in millville. tomorrow a change for you. the low gets off the coast and high pressure right up above and we see a good amount of sunshine and you see high, thin clouds and cirrus clouds mixing in and a prettier day and temperatures respond 54 for your high. and then quickly after that, the area of low pressure moves in for friday and never
