seventy-seven in cape may. 73 degrees in dover. we factor in the heat and humidity when you step outside, this is how hot it feels. it feels like 96 in the city. heat index in dover the at 104, feeling like 91 for allentown and reading. ninety-five the current heat index number out to the west in lancaster. the heat advisory stays up and stay with the heat advisory for i-95 corridor that has been extended until 7:00 p.m. on saturday. once again tomorrow we are underneath a heat advisory for all of the delaware and lehigh valleys with the exception, the poconos but overall heat index from 100 to 103 if not higher in some locations. here's satellite six with action radar we have a cold front draped off to our north and west, couple little spotty showers, across the new york, pennsylvania border, the problem with this front and reason why we're not seeing any relief today it has yet to sag to the south. so what is happening is that southeasterly wind and it is hazy, hot, humid as we close out our workweek on this friday. heading over to citizens bank park, the boss, bruce springsteen, taking on, the stage, later on tonight, 7:00 p.m. that temperature at 90 degrees. we have partly cloudy sky 8:00 . partly cloudy, still clear and comfortable at 9:00 p.m. eighty-two at 10:00 o'clock and still lower 80's at 11:00 p.m. tonight. here's the setup and this is what we can expect. we're watching record today. we are calling for a high temperature of 95 degrees here in philadelphia. if we hit that we will break the record of 94 setback in 1884 and tomorrow, that heat hangs on, a temperature of 96. the record setback in 19 -- what was that 1983 was the high temperature then of 97. we have more details, rick and let you know when relief is coming with that accu weather forecast. we will check back in later. we have breaking news, to pass along from the cobbs creek section of philadelphia, chopper six is over a house collapse, that took place, just about 15 minutes ago. and, again this is the cobbs creek section of the city, 60th and locust where it happens as we zooming in. you can see damage there. roof of the home has collapsed and there are bricks all over the street we are told right now the good news no injuries have been reported, but again a house collapsing, suddenly, here in the cobbs creek section of philadelphia. the intersection of 60th and locust, probably this house is vacant when it suddenly came down. there are bricks that have littered the roadway there the streets, again, in one has been injured but fire crews are on the scene trying to, make sure everyone is safe and trying to determine the fire crews the right of your screen there trying to determine exactly what happened and why, but of course we will continue to monitor the situation here in cobbs creek and bring you more information as it becomes available but again, no one was injuries, in this house collapse at 60th and locust street. all right. back to our heat story now as we said excessive heat has force sod school districts to dismiss students early today. all philadelphia public and archdiocese schools were dismissed at noon time. many buildings don't have air conditioning. all public after school and athletic activities were also cancelled for today, and tomorrow, and the same decision was made at some schools across the river. "action news" reporter janet reyes is live in camden with that part of the story. janet. >> reporter: rick, you only have to step outside for a moment and you will start sweating like we are in a matter of minutes at the 1:00, students at cooper school here will be released because of this sweltering heat. temperatures are expect to sore into the 90's but it will feel like triple digits all after school activity, and athletic programs in the school district are cancelled. we're talking about 7500 students, who were going home early today. i spoke with the superintendent and she tells me that only a handful of schools have central air that can hand this will kind of heat but most of the district schools were built before 1920's, large percentage of these students have health issues whether it be asthma or diabetes, which makes them real vulnerable. she says it is simply not worth the risk. >> a lot of thought goes into really making sure that decision is right because we want our students to have their instructional time, and, maximized especially at beginning of the year when they are used to routines. so student safety comes first. >> reporter: you know there are a a developing story out of trenton, this noon, we have just learned a woman who was shot a short time ago has died from her injuries. the shooting happened on the 200 block of spring street at 11:30 this morning. police found the woman on the street they say that she was shot in the stomach, no arrests have been made, homicide detectives are on the scene right now investigating. and police just released identity of the off-duty officer accused of shooting his son. officials say that office are dayien young a 23 year-old veteran of the force was in his home on taunton street on monday when he got in an altercation with his 19 years old son. during the fight officer young fired his son twice hitting his son in the stomach and then the back. his son remains in the hospital in critical condition. officer young is honorary stricted duty, because of that incident. a zip line attraction this delaware reopened today two weeks after a deadly fall. go ape tree tops adventure at lunds pond state park has been closed since august 24th. fifty-nine year-old tina werner fell 35 feet to her death after she disconnect herself from a safety system. state officials said yesterday that they died this past spring after a brief illness. school honored a hero in the up are darby drexel hill community each year to commemorate, the 9/11 attacks. and in washington today, attorney general loretta lynch led a moment of silence at department of justice ahead of the 15th anniversary of the september 11th attacks. she also dedicated a commemorative plaque for the survivor tree which was planted in the department of justice's courtyard on last years 9/11 anniversary. lynch said it was from a pair tree that stood on the world trade center plaza on september 11th, 2001, and narrowly survived the terror attack. she said it is a token of the nation's determination to persevere. in the race for the white house now hillary clinton and donald trump continued trading barbs following their national security forum a couple nights ago. as the attack ramps up a new poll shows the race tightening in some battle ground states. abc's karen traverse is live in washington with more on sultry, heat indices 103. the relief comes as the cold front makes progress late saturday into sunday. high pressure returns as we get into the second half of the weekend. dewpoints are lower, as well. if you look at the dewpoint numbers over the next four days, still on the high side in the upper 60s. in the wake of the cold front relief comes. dewpoints in the middle 50s where they should be
