judge john cleland did hear arguments from defense attorneys and prosecutors but it is unclear when he will decide on whether there should be an appeals hearing. convicted pedophile jerry sandusky walk into court with a defiant tone imploring the press to listen, to defense arguments for a new trial. inside the courtroom defense attorneys argued sandusky refused ineffective counsel from his past defense attorneys, joey amen dole a they believe theyer ordinary in waving the penn state football coach's preliminary hearing which would have given the attorneys then an opportunity, to hear from the victims. the defense also criticized his attorney for allowing sandusky's infamous interview by bob costas. when he suggested that he liked young boys, for sexual gratification, and, paused when he asked if he was sexually attracted to boys. judge reiterated though that he had problems with a new defense's argument saying that he had questioned factual evidence that would compel him to provide an appeals hearing. defense attorneys did hold a press conference just a short time ago, during one of the defense attorneys actually read a statement from jerry sandusky, and sandusky, jury selection has begun in the corruption trial of the long time pennsylvania congressman chaka fattah. fattah's accused of taking bribes and misusing campaign funds and federal grants. the judge delayed start of the testimony until may 16th. last week fattah loss the primary to state law maker twi evans ending his hopes of the 12th term in congress. philadelphia police say a 20 year-old man had died following a crash in the east falls section that also killed a six year-old boy. man has been identified as nair ross wilson while the child was identified as eric perez. wilson is father of the seven week old baby girl critically injured in the wreck. six other people, also seriously hurt. the crash happened shortly before 4:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon, here in the 5400 block of henry avenue. investigators say the rainy weather was a major factor in the crash. a driver is in the hospital following this collision in the cities mayfair section. it happened on frankford avenue near tyson avenue at 6:30 this morning. police say driver in one of the cars was trapped and had to be rescued. that driver is hospitalized in stable condition. the cause of the crash still under investigation. turning now to the accu weather forecast, another dreary day across the delaware and lehigh valleys. those cloud just do not wanting to away. >> nope. later this evening we will have, we will be watching for some possible thunderstorms, as well. meteorologist david murphy outside with the latest from accu weather. david, we are dry right now but things are changing. >> rick and is no rain however but we are getting a break. we are expecting over the next couple hours to start to return unshine into play which isn't a good thing because that will destabilize atmosphere and baltimore we can see cloud breaking up but we are looking at the potential return for some sunshine. the as we look at future tracker six you can see by 2:30 we already are, transition go to at least partially sunny skies. now watch the west as we advanced this, we will see showers that begin creeping through. as we get in the evening hours there is a chance some of these develop into thunderstorms. some could be strong gusty thunderstorms down in the southern 23rd of the delaware, base click kent and sussex counties and extreme south jersey, southern cape may county could see a cracking then are storm tonight with good gusty wind with it. be careful of that. even as late as 11:00 you might still be looking at lightening outside the window and thunder through your neighborhood. temperatures right now are still cool, 55 degrees beneath clouds in philadelphia. farther south in washington we have got 63 where the cloud are breaking. it isn't too much farther south we are well the in the 70's. we will try to tap into that warmer air down south and we should see a late the day high in the mid to upper 60's in philadelphia. some spots south and west getting up in the 70's. here's how we will play it the rest of the afternoon by 4:00 mix of clouds and sun breaks. sixty-seven. sixty-eight by five or 5:30. then we will start to dip after dark by 10:00 o'clock all o'clock there will be some cloud out the to the west and related showers and then eventually that starts to drop through and by six or 7:00 o'clock tonight there is a chance of spotty thunderstorms popping up. later in the evening hours we will see some more drenchers and some of these could be those severe storms that we are talking about down in dover and millville. it could be late this cecily tynan right here on six abc at 11:00 with the radar showing you the very latest. the severe risk that was in place this afternoon appears to be getting push further to the south. so may be a is your high today in philadelphia. farther south and west you go better chance you have of more warm air surging in and down in dover we think about 74 late today. all of these, fairly late in the afternoon. up in allentown only 62. real difference between north and south, of course, it will be cool along the ocean because we are next to the cool ocean water. taking a look where temperatures go rest of the the way, 60 degrees by 2:00. getting up in the upper 60's by 4:00. if we get that 68 it is more like five. sixty-five by 6:00. cooling down between 8:00 and 10:00. possibility of showers and thunderstorms through the evening. then tomorrow morning we are still unsettled to start out. it looks like morning showers around, and then by noon we are down to spotty drizzle a and spotty showers, a little bit more of that during the afternoon. the less rain though thomas we go into the ladder portion of the day. sixty-eight is the day high, late this afternoon. we will probably break out some sunshine but then look out for that afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. cloudy and damp thomas you saw, 66. could see early sunshine on wednesday but then afternoon rain builds back in and if you have a t time in the morning, great. afternoon not so great. sixty-four is the high on wednesday. thursday 62 under the clouds. the thursday does look like it is a day that could feature off and on rain pretty much throughout. friday still unsettled. we could see early sun and then afternoon showers, we'll merge, and then for weekend things get better, clouds and sun on saturday and
