Philadelphia police are trying to find the bandit who staged a Home Invasion in Queen Village this afternoon and tied up an 84yearold woman. Action News Reporter Annie Mccormick is live in the 700 block of south front street and annie, whats the full story there . Reporter well, jim, police and also friends of the 84yearold victim say that she is in good spirits tonight. She was even able to walk around with detectives through the crime scene that is her home. At this hour they are still looking for the person responsible. He had her tied up in the basement. She untied herself and went up and yelled fire. Reporter a friend of the brave and quick thinking 84yearold Home Invasion victim described the terrifying moments the victim relayed to her how she untied herself. Police say a robber restrained her arms and legs with a belt and dog leash after breaking into a Queen Village home this afternoon. He demanded money. If somebody came up behind her, this 84yearold precious like a kitty cart smart as a whip and, you know attacked her. Reporter the call came into police just before 2 00 reporting a Home Invasion and robbery in the 700 block of south front street. Police say the robber stole cash then fled down an alley. Detectives and police scoured the block this afternoon. The victim luckily wall was not injured. Philadelphia police say theyre beefing up patrol in this neighborhood. Jim, this is still early in the investigation. Theyre trying to figure out how that robber did that enter the home. Theyre also looking for Surveillance Video in the area and at this hour they only have a vague description, a white male in his 30s with a thin build wearing black pants. Philadelphia police plus state and federal law men are on the scene of a suspected marijuana growing operation in West Philadelphia. Chopper6 was over the scene along the 4800 block of cedar avenue. Action news has learned that officers went inside and found a large amount of plants and growing equipment. This was the scene last night after police found the bodies of a man and woman inside their apartment. It happened in the 1300 block of Federal Street in south philadelphia. Action News Reporter Sarah Bloomquist is live at Police Headquarters tonight. Sarah, what have police learned about this and what about the search for the killer . Reporter jim, Philadelphia Police are still waiting on the medical examiner to rule on the cause of death. So, its unclear at this point if authorities are making progress in this investigation after notifying Family Members of the murders this Afternoon Police did release the victims identities. I mean he just had this energy that was unbelievable. Reporter Family Members of 50yearold Candido Gonzalez described him as a single dad doing his best for his young son with the help of his girlfriend 23yearold caitlyn jaje. She was a wonderful person that came into his life about a year ago and she became a stepmother to his son. Like she had great energy, too and they just tried. They tried. But on this day god wanted them and he had a better plan for them. Reporter late last night police were called to the couples apartment in the 1300 block of Federal Street in south philadelphia after a Family Member discovered the victims unconscious. They were in separate rooms apparently at salted assaulted and they had something tied around their necks. There were no signs of forced entry. Neighbors awoke to Police Activity and then saw the medical examiner removing the bodies from the residence. I saw the coroner. I said wow. Reporter gonzalezs son was not at home but his mother was upstairs. Family members say she didnt hear anything. They added that a few years ago her other son was shot and killed on the steps of the very same address. All we can do is just ask for prayers and for the anybody that may have seen something to come forward. Reporter again, many details yet to be released including why this couple might be targeted. A new jersey man has been accused of killing his girlfriend in hamilton mercer county. 38yearold Daniel Torres jr. Was arrested yesterday after 31yearold jennifer beer was shot to death in the couples apartment on south olden avenue. Police also found a dead dog inside the home. Torres is facing charges of murder and animal cruelty. Philadelphia police are still looking for the person who shot four men near a Large Block Party in mantua. It happened near 39th and mellon streets just after 11 oclock last night. A 24yearold remains in critical condition. The three other victims an 18yearold and two 21yearolds are expected to survive. Police are using very clear surveillance images in hopes of finding this man. He committed the unspeakable act of urinating on the exterior walls of the synagogue congregation beth solomon at 198 Tomlinson Road in the somerton section of philadelphia. The suspects identity isnt hidden rather, the still frames taken from the footage is very clear. Whats also clear, the Police Departments stance on antisemitic attacks. He makes an obscene gesture and proceeds to urinate on the walls. He jumps into this white bmw and takes off. It happened at the congregation beth solomon on Tomlinson Road. Neighbors are disgusted. Thats just horrible. Thats a disgrace to do that to a synagogue to do that to anything, a place of business, a home, a synagogue, a mosque, a church, anything like that, i think thats horrible. Reporter they also hope the suspect is caught quick before he can do Something Like this again. To do Something Like that theres no good reason for it.
