Reporter well, this really will be the big introduction for indiana governor, mike pence, its a chance for him to talk about his conservative values and how he will work with donald trump a man he does not necessarily agree with on all the issues, we caught up with the delegates and asked pence what they need to do tonight. Pence spent the night in cleveland. And delegates think trump picked the right man, a conservative expecting to call for unity in the party. An excellent choice, one team, one america. Think it was a smart choice, he could have picked a lot of people. The rumors of picking governor christie, that is two bulls in the china closet and a mess. Instead of being antitrump, now this is a guy they can get around. We are excited. The overall theme of economy and jobs and the idea that if we are strong at home with economy and jobs that makes us strong overall. Its no secret that he and mr. Trump disagree on issues including trade and the proposed ban on muslims banned from the country. I hope they are not banned on some issues, when have you two or three different people in the room and people on the ticket there should be some differences. Several other big name speakers take the podium including Newt Gingrich and his wife senators ted cruz and marco rubio will speak this evening, interesting neither of them are yet to endorse donald trump. And bill and hillary are her inlaws, how do you emotionally handle the verbally against hillary clinton. I try to make it part of our class and what we are doing and not taking it personal. Its hurtful and also not true. So i stand there saying huh . Really . Im shocked that there is this meanness, and this lack of respect for somebody who should be respected and as far as im concerned loved but there is this meanness here, the family takes it much more personally. Than mrs. Clinton does . Than those people who know, its tough. At a certain point, what people do is they realize that they are part of something that is larger than themselves. And that is your really part of an amazing process and that being anywhere near it is a privilege. And i think that that is a compensation, a huge compensation. Another compensation, eisenhower gets to teach young people about the american political progress both the good and bad and yes there is plenty of both. There was a ruckus on the protest front, about 20 pro testers one of whom set an American Flag on fire. It seems like members of the media and five or six protesters were arrested. The politics agains to heat up and mike pence will speak to this crowd and so will ted cruz, and the big question is will ted cruz endorse donald trump for president. Reporter hey jaime, way too many bad atbats for your phillies averaging only 2 runs per game. They lost four of their last five games and fallen to nine games back in the wild card behind the Miami Marlins who they face tonight. Among the biggest issues is all the strikeouts, how about 36 strikeouts over the last three games, they are averaging 12 per game lately. Awful. Manager pete mccannon called a hitters meeting and hopefully that fixes the problem. Areas in southern new jersey have been hammered with all the storms, the last couple of months. As we look at the highlights here heat is building in the midsection of the country with excessive heat warnings, heat advisories and this area continues to expand and move to the east as we get into the end of the week and the upcoming weekend, it impacts locally here, its hot but the humidity is all that oppressive. It starts to build on friday especially high, the same thing for saturday and its sunday and monday when the core of that dangerous heat pushes in and turns extreme here for at least two to maybe three days, temperatures now are below normal. 83 in allentown and trenton and wilmington 82 and 80 in millville. Upper 70s for the shore community. Pleasant at 71 degrees. High pressure is to the west. Winds are clockwise and getting the flow out of the north and canada, that really doesnt hold much in the way of humidity. Its not the case with the high slipping to the south, we get on the western part of the high with a bermuda heat pump with the southwesterly wind, its clear and comfortable, with a gentle breeze to the north and west and mid60s for the majority of the region and the jersey shore, the heat like you saw with the heat advisories are in the nations heartland with the jet stream to the north and the jet stream is pivoting over our region and lifts to the north here later on in the week. Allowing the heat and humidity to spill eastward for the midatlantic and the southeast and gets captured here for an extended period of time. We are talking about dangerous heat friday through monday, the hottest temperatures we have seen in four years you have to go back to 2012 for the last time for philadelphia to hit 99 degrees or better and when you factor in the humidity especially here sunday and monday, the heat index hitting 100 and 105 degrees. Record temperatures are in jeopardy for sunday and monday. And this will create a cumulative affect on the body because its multiple days of that extreme humidity and in fact, heat is the number one weather related killer in the country, so definitely something you want to take seriously as we go over the next several days. The exclusive accuweather sevenday forecast hot but not too humid tomorrow at 90 and 95 with heat index of 100 on friday with an isolated thunderstorm. Same heat index on saturday, and then the humidity spikes again on sun up to 103 degrees for how it will feel and with the dnc in town limit Outdoor Activities and drink lots of water, 106 record degrees on monday with afternoon storms developing and still hot and humid on tuesday and scattered storms in the afternoon and the heat wave continues despite we drop a little bit on wednesday to 90 degrees, something to definitely watch over and take seriously and check on the elderly and keep the pets in doors and its very young kids.
