Reporter rick, police are work on this since last night but they are not able to determine the source of the crack cocaine and meantime the little girl remains at Childrens Hospital under observation and police are commending her day care provider saying she did everything right. Today people arrived to drop off their children at Learning Center at haverford in west philadelphia. They saw on the news that a 3yearold girl had ingested crack cocaine at the day care. At the end of the day its a child. The baby could have overdosed, you dont know how much the baby took. Its scary. 15 children ages 1 to 9 were at the day care at 9 30 when day care workers noticed a little girl was chewing on something, and they pulled a small bag from her mouth. The rock in it was missing and we believe the child swallowed it. I was shocked and couldnt believe it was happening. She immediately called the police and rushed the girl to the hospital herself and they determined that she ingested crack. To be in a child is disheart earning and i would never want any child to experience anything like that. So my emotions are like so mixed right now. Police commended her handling of the scare and parents make them trust her with their children even more. I love her even more for that. I know if my daughter is going to do Something Like that, she will call 911 or call me. Her training and state regulations kicked in in this situation and worked perfectly. The police searched the girls home and talked to her parents but have not found the source of the crack cocaine. They believe that the worker did everything right but per protocol they called dhs and the agency that licenses day care in the state of pennsylvania. Thank you.
