arrests when people in the streets were throwing bricks and rocks at officers. the crowd though then lessened after police deployed pepper pellets and smoke canisters. from that point on police did have the city under control. and obviously you can tell from these scenes that the night starter off unstable but the situation didn't get close to escalating to the kind of violence we saw monday night into tuesday morning. many residents volunteers and community leaders vowed to keep the peace in the city saying freddie gray, the 25-year-old whose death sparked such outrage would not want this to happen to baltimore. residents spent yesterday cleaning up the aftermath of those violent riots saying that the violence that overtook their city broke their hearts but now they are proud. the police commissioner echoed those feelings in an overnight news conference. >> major events earlier in the evening, we had a group march down to the down sun area to city hall, we had no major issues with that. we had a small group within that group of about four to five people that we stopped and had a conversation with but allowed that em to proceed on that group had no issues. very proud of them. they came down, did a first amendment rights and went back and returned to the area that they had come from. >> reporter: for now the curfew will remain in effect for a week and authorities say one passenger who had a history of heart issues complained of chest problems and was taken to the hospital. >> but everything turned out well there. >> what a ride. >> let's take a look at the great sunshinely i love it when sky six catches that picture of the container ship going by in the back round. a lot happening at the airport. looks like a busy morning and bright, too. little bit cool out the door, 51 degrees right now in philadelphia. your dewpoint low, an indication of that dry air in place. winds west-southwest only at 5 miles per hour. a little bit of a breeze every now and then temperatures from north to south pretty similar away from the shore. up in allentown and trenton and reading mid 70's. same thing in philadelphia and wilmington and all the way down to millville. and then right down by the coast it's the low to mid 60's today next to that cool ocean water. nice and warm across most of the region, though and even at the shore feeling fairly comfortable. keep in mind, though, that with high temperatures in the 70's and lots of sun out there, it's that kind of day that's going to draw people out but the u.v. index is running high and you will want your sunscreen handy today definitely protect the skin. over the next couple days things start to change. we get a coastal low that eventually is going to combine with some energy inland and the two of these will form a stronger deepening low also a it heads off shore. now, this means more clouds around tomorrow with some sunny breaks, slight chance of an afternoon shower but i think mainly dry. temperatures will ease back down a little bit and then on friday the on shore flow over that low is really going to kick in. it will get us fairly cloudy on friday and cooler and maybe some more showers around as that low moves off the coast but the low itself is going to be so far away that i think this is going to have minimal impact precipitation-wise. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, 76, nice and warm today. tomorrow still getting up to about 70 but there will be more clouds and maybe a spotty shower. and then breezy and much cooler on friday with that on shore flow. look at that this morning. we have a bunch of issues we've been watching tam and matt. one is a crash on the northbound side of 476, the blue route. penndot is out there, they're blocking off the e-z pass only
