We spoke to the victims roommate and she says the victim is doing okay but she is quite shaken up. This 19yearold university of the arts student lives in the apartment where two armed men barged in this morning looking to rob the place and she didnt want to be identified. She happened to be in class at the time. Her roommate another university of the art student was home alone in the apartment on the 1400 block of lombard. Someone knocked on the door and she opened it and they barged their way in and they were like they were asking her for money and they like ransacked the place looking. The two men got away in the car heading westbound on Lombard Police believe it this was a crime of opportunity. They strike wherever they can. Its a crime of opportunity. I dont think it was directed towards us but i think it was a random act. Word spread quickly about what had happened. I think its crazy i never had issues with violence or anything around here. Its weird, i felt like this was an okay neighborhood. The place was ransacked and dusted for fingertiped. The roommates will be staying elsewhere for a while. The 30yearold victim was shot multiple times on the 700 block of East Allegheny avenue in kensington. Police believe the shooting stems from an earlier argument. A Philadelphia Police officer is dead tonight after suffering a heart attack at the criminal Justice Center this morning. Officer justin vanburger was on duty and was a 16 year veteran of the Philadelphia Police department. In less than 12 hours, faculty at more than a dozen Pennsylvania State universities will walk off the job unless their Union Reaches a new contract deal.
