"action news" reporter katherine scott has the story. >> from the farmlands of lancaster county to the philadelphia zoo, this group of visitors from peach bottom, pennsylvania, wanted help to navigate the city and septa was happy to step in. >> we got a form from a woman in lancaster and was assisting a large group of folks from the amish country. >> now that summer is here and more people are coming to town septa wants people to know their customer service can help to plan your trip. there are 62 people in this group and they assist groups of any size and ask for the customer service department and you'll be transferred to a specialist. >> we are encouraging groups to help them plan their day and make things go as seamlessly as possible. >> once they learned the destination was the zoo it was time to plan the route. one man told me they can't get their driver's licenses but they do ride, they could have taken the bus the whole way but didn't want to miss out on the fun of the train. they pulled in via amtrak keystone express. and a representative greeted them and helped them with the transfer to jefferson station in center city and then boarded a bus that took them to the zoo. >> this group is made up of dairy farmers, they milked the cows early this morning and tailored the trip to be back in time 12 hours later to milk them again. >> we want people comfortable inbound ramp of montgomery drive heading on to the eastbound lanes of the schuylkill. that is closed because of an accident but those vehicles have moved up to the second accident here. moving along showing you the vine street expressway we have an accident in the westbound lanes right under the overpass and that is underneath we condition see it now but we have the long line of vehicles there. presidential candidates share their plans on keeping the homeland safe moving forward. >> the plan charged with setting his girlfriend on fire face a judge today. plus, he is targeting banks in two counties for years and never wears the same disguise twice. we are following new developments in the deadly attack at an airport in istanbul, turkey, nobody has claimed responsibility. but authorities say all signs point to isis. we are talking about moments leading up to the blast that took the lives of 42 people and wounded hundreds more. >> the three suicide bombers tried but failed to get through security and then went out side and pulled out their guns and opened fire at the check point and one man blue himself up and the others took advantage of the panic to get inside of the terminal and detonate their suicide vests. >> we stand beside turkey and do what is necessary to make sure these kinds of terrible events are not happening -- >> today president obama reaffirmed his commitment to the country of turkey and to fighting terrorists. so far no reports of any americans killed in the airport attack however a travel advisory remains in effect for americans in the region. and the political candidates are talking about the istanbul attacks. megan hughes is live with more on that. >> reporter: good evening. the u.s. state department reporting that the u.s. didn't have any actionable diligence that this attack was coming and president obama today vowing to stand behind our nato ally, president obama stood beside north america leaders in ottawa to make sure his heart was in istanbul. >> i had a chance to talk to the president and discuss with him how heart broken we are with the iges with the injured and those killed. >> he said not only has turkey been an ally in the efforts all three are committed to fighting the islamic state. >> they will be defeated in syria and iraq and we will not rest until we have dismantled these networks of hate. >> we have to take care of the isis situation, they are spreading like wild fire. >> donald trump criticizing the u.s.'s response to terror threats in the battleground state of ohio -- >> it's bad, we better get smart and we better get tough or we won't have much of a country left. >> donald trump is at a disadvantage when it comes to views on terrorism. hillary clinton up after the orlando nightclubhooting. >> not girlfriend on fire, killing her back in may will stand trial for murder. in bensalem today a judge ruled there was enough evidence against kevin smalls to move forward. he is accused of throwing a cup of gasoline on lisa bacon smith while smoking in a hotel room. now we know the man hit and killed by two cars, warren gainer was hit by one car at market street. when the driver stopped and got out a second car hit gainer and the second car stopped at the scene and neither driver will be charged in the case. a man suffered serious burps in the german town section of philadelphia. this is the scene at the 200 block before 4:00 a.m. investigator says the man living inside of the home climbed on to the roof to escape the flames and climbed down to safety, and was taken to the hospital for treatment. it's not clear how this fire started. tonight the fbi is asking for your help to identify an armed serial bank robber that uses all kinds of disguises for his crimes, he has hit ten banks in montgomery and buck county between 2012 and 2015, each time he wears something to cover his face and hair and hands and is always carrying a gun. the suspect has used a mask and pillowcase with holes in it and ball caps and jackets and rubber gloves. a witness caught a glimpse of the suspect and they have this sketch. if you recognize this man the fbi wants to hear from you. an american airlines flight headed to philadelphia from seattle, washington had to turn around on the tarmac because of a fire on board. it was going towards the runway when smoke starts to pour from the plane. sea-tac spokesman says that a spark in a unit below the tail section started the fire, the fire department arrived and put out the flames, the flight was only delayed about three hours and the passengers are expected to arrive in philadelphia around 7:00 p.m. but a real scare for them. time to get caught up on the evening commute. autumn marisa in for matt pellman. >> hi monica and brian, we'll go out to the vine street expressway these are the westbound lanes and an accident on the underpass and the fire truck pulled away, but this is the backup. all the way back on the ben franklin bridge, it's westbound lanes heading over to the city a slow drive there, we had an earlier accident southbound at penn's landing and now the accident off to the shoulder on the vine street expressway and this is what we are dealing with now on the ben. looking at montgomery drive, we have our inbound lanes reopen as we make our way on to the schuylkill expressway an accident there. a little farther ahead off to the shoulder on the right hand side in the eastbound lanes by montgomery we have an accident with three police cars at the scene right now. our accident off to the right hand shoulder here at creek road in the northbound lanes has been pushed off to the side and that red vehicle is off to the side there, the police just left the scene, we expect to see that delay to diminish soon. moving along and showing you the other area bridges with the exception of the ben franklin bridge we are looking nice and clear and mass transit on time no reported delays. >> thank aluminum plan in georgia. happening outside of atlanta, one victim was flown out and two others were driven to the hospital. authorities did not say how the explosion happened and the business was shut down while they investigate. >> a recovery effort is now underway in the town of panhandle, texas, after two trains collided head-on. officials say the bodies of two train workers have been found but a third worker is still missing, the trains were apparently on the same track when that happened causing an explosive fire. in southern california, the crew of a whale and dolphin watching tour turned into a rescue team. they spotted an endangered blue whale stuck in fishing line earlier this week. they were especiallytained to help in a situation like this and were first to spot the whale and called it in. >> every time they try to move on swim, it tears into its flesh, i think in this area we have 40 whales this were spotted and entangled. >> dave and his group say they were inches from being able to get the whale and it swam off and they were unable to get it free from the netting. jaime apody is here with sports and the phillies playing and lets see how they are doing. you last night is down to the south and you see the storms firing up near raleigh and the carolinas, this front stays there tomorrow and it swings back there to the north and into the day on friday, tonight a lot of stars around and remaining comfortable, 50s in the northwestern suburbs and 66 for center city and weak high pressure in control for tomorrow, holding the front to the south and gorgeous and comfy at 87 degrees and the front starts to approach tomorrow evening and tomorrow night into the day on friday and in addition to the warm front a cold front approaches in the afternoon and between the two we are squeeze played here. and the humidity turns tropical again. the uv index is high with temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees, the ocean running at 74 with the
