According to penndot in the last five years, there are 45 crashes at this intersection two of them involving pedestrians, penndot and the city are looking into the setup of the traffic lights here, in light of the crash that killed a young woman, 17yearold marcalia jackson. Tonight that investigation is turning to the gunmans wife. They are trying to figure out if she knew about the attack before it happened and if so how much. Marcy gonzales has more now from orlando, florida. New insight into the planning of the massacre. The killers wife now possibly facing charges. Sources telling abc news she may have visited the site with omar mateen in the past and possibly knew what was planning, but reportedly claimed she tried to talk him out of it. He appears to have been an angry disturbed unstable young man who became radicalized. It claims that mateen was a regular at clubs including pulse for years and used gay dating app to cant men. When he first contacted me, he was asking like what clubs in his words, what clubs are popping and things of that sort and good places to go. Mateen may have scouted other locations for the attack including nearby disney properties. Including this nightclub where people are still connecting evidence. Thank you marcy. And we are hearing the first tales of survival from those that made it out of pulse nightclub alive. Three survivors share their stories and grief. Bun was 20yearold patience carter at the club with her two friends. The trio from philadelphia was on vacation in florida, as they were trying to get a ride home the gunman burst into pulse and began firing, all three girls ended up hiding in a bathroom stall. The gunman entered the bathroom and was shooting his machine gun so we are all like scrambling around in the bathroom screaming at the top of our lungs. Carter and parker made it out alive and akira murray their friend did not. She was celebrating a recent graduation from high school and her basketball scholarship to mercy college. Now they are grieving the again of their daughter. Its emptiness knowing our daughter is not coming home with us is the saddest part. Snowing she is gone i just keep seeing her face. The murrays say they are trying to find solis in the fact that her daughter died trying to save her cousin and her friend. And we are hearing more from the doctors that handled the flood of victims in orlando. They described the scene as chaotic and overwhelming. People in pain and people worrying about their loved ones not knowing before their loved ones are. Tonight 27 patients remain hospitalized. Six are in intensive care, since the shooting, doctors at Orlando Regional Medical Center have performed more than 30 surgeries. Reporter yes, it is a Level One Trauma Center they are used to seeing gunshot victims but one trauma surgeon says based on the magnitude it was somewhat of a surreal experience. A survivor treated at the hospital spoke today. He was shot a total of five times and tramabled over and then dragged to safety. All i could hear was the shotguns. One after another. People screaming and yelling for help. Angel cologne describes the scene at pulse nightclub as he was lying on the floor, he was shot in the leg, hands and tip and cannot walk. He and dozens of others were dragged out and brought by truck loads to Orlando Regional Medical Center. They were putting them on stretchers and rolling them into in to us. Said this is not a drill or hoax, we have 20 plus gunshot wounds coming, we need you here and every answer i got was ill be there. Gunshot wounds big and small to all areas of the body. This is what you think of as a war scene. We had patients in every corner, medical staff filled every corner, doctors, nurses and techs and supstaff. All say that patients were evaluated and treated quickly. We went from the operating room to operating room. Dr. Smith says that sunday was the worst night of his career and the best because of how the team responded. Angel is grateful and lucky to be alive. Love you guys. Many of the staff there talk about how calm and focused everybody was in triage and treating patients as a nurse i can tell you that is vital and likely comes from practicing drills and preparing for a mass casualty event like this horrible tragedy.
