The gloucester Health Department reports four students were diagnosed with viral meningitis last week, two go to Gloucester High School and two to the school of technology and two are associated with the Football Team at pitman. Meningitis is most common during the summer and fall, its caused by a group of viruses including the common stomach bug most often seen this time of year. Symptoms include fever, headaches, stiff neck and nausea, most people affected get better on their own in a week. You have to look at the pattern in the upper atmosphere, this blocking high, that is what won out this weekend brought us a dry papal weekend, that High Pressure is Strong Enough and that would capture joaquin in heading out to sea, and the euro which is the most reliable computer model, it nailed sandy, shows it going out to sea but other models show this High Pressure stronger than blocking high and it would help it stay there for a while and that would bring us a lot of rain and that is what i think is going to happen and the National Hurricane center actually follows that train of thought, it shows joaquin becoming a major hurricane over the weekend and moving inland and at this point it shows the track of North Carolina and virginia as a category two hurricane and have you to look at the entire cone of uncertainty, from southern North Carolina to long island, this is the potential path of joaquin and even if we dont get a direct hit we are looking at a lot of rain, be aware and prepare and the track is very uncertain, the key time would be sunday into monday, earlier sunday if it hits farther down to the south and earlier monday if it hits to the north and big question is the wind based on the track. S. Canadian border to the northeast and this high blocking pressure will keep it from escaping to the north. Winds sustained at 85 Miles Per Hour and moving to the southwest at a couple hundred miles northnortheast of the bahamas and makes a curve and becomes a major hurricane, as early as late tomorrow and friday concluding on saturday with winds sustained at 115, and the laest of the track take its near the outer banks of North Carolina as a direct hit of a category two.
