plumstead township. and at this hour one person is unaccounted for. "action news" reporter kenneth moton is live near the 6600 block of point pleasant pike. kenneth, what's the situation there? >> jim, the information is still coming in but we have confirmed that firefighters are definitely looking for the homeowner. they got as far back tonight, and the scene about a half mile down this country road where you see the emergency lights. let me get you closer. from chopper 6 and from the ground we see the flames shooting from this two-story house. and the heavy smoke as firefighters work to get it under control. the call came in around 7:30 on point pleasant pike in plumstead township. we are told firefighters had a tough time with this one because the house was packed with items, a possible hoarding situation that really fueled this fire. neighbors say the home belongs to a man who lived here more than two decades and rarely leaves his home. in fact his vehicle was still in the driveway which is why firefighters say at this point he is unaccounted for. >> pretty much stuck to himself, you know. he was a little bit different, but he didn't cause any problems. so he did hoard a lot. >> what challenges does the search bring? >> with so much collapse it makes it different. it is an unsafe condition in there. only bringing people in a little bit, do a little bit of work come back out, reassess. and watching the spreading moving in the floors and ceilings. >> at this point, investigators are a long way from trying to figure out what sparked this fire. because of this search we have the latest as it becomes available, jim. reporting live in plumstead township, bucks county for channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. two philadelphia police officers on the mend tonight after getting into an accident while on routine patrol. they crashed at 21st and laveer street in germantown two hours ago. they say the other car ran a stop sign. chopper 6 overhead at einstein medical center pass one officer arrived for treatment clutching something to his head but walking under his own power. happening in woodbury heights, new jersey, a pick up struck four children. they will survive but are in the hospital at this hour. and dann cuellar is it live. >> investigators say four kids lucky to be alive after struck by a truck. playing in the road wrae on 400 chestnut avenue. the driver did not see the kid until it was too late. a small child's shoes left on the roadway where the four kids were struck. a small cart that one of the kids was sitting in was on the roadway while they conducted the investigation. about 8:00 the kids were playing in the 400 block of chestnut ave and a truck drove up and struck them. >> they were on the street and playing. and then i just heard a loud noise and my son came and told me that something bad happened on the street. >> the kids two girls and two boys ages 4, 8, 9 and 15 suffered a number of bumps and bruises and taken to cooper trauma. and the driver drove into the bush on the side of the roadway and not injured. >> he wasn't speeding but cars tend to speed up and down the street even though it is a dead-end street. >> the guy, was he going to visit somebody up there? >> the word "reform" in catholic tradition means conversion. which means we reform our life after the pattern given to us by the gospel. that's what it means. not that we exchange the teaching of jesus christ for the teachings of the current age. we believe that jesus, god game -- became man and that is the teaching. >> and many feel differently. leaving the american catholic church struggled to keep the flog engaged as it failed to adapt to modern lifestyles. in a poll 64% say the church should allow priests to marry and 73% said they should sanction birth control. >> and polls are very important so we know where people stand, but the catholic church is not a church whose teaching depends on polls. only one constituent that matters that is jesus christ. if what the people ask for is that the churching more faithful to jesus christ i am all enthusiastic about it. if >> 47 parishes closed and chaput works to close the archdiocese deficit. for many communities it is hard-breaking. >> everybody that i talk to is it either angry with me because we closed their parish. mergers take place. people don't go to place anymore. and they want their parishes a place that people move into rather than another one. >> are you confident there is not one priest in the archdiocese that is current highway abusing children. >> if i knew there were the person would be removed and we are all human beings all of us. as far as i know there is not a single person in our parishes and our schools, in public ministry that has a history of abusing children. >> i wondered if archbishop charles chaput is disappointed that the pope has not appointed him cardinal after four years on the job. he replied he is not disappoint said. even if it never happens, archbishop of philadelphia is privileged. have you seen theinbow?
