that is the question, residents in and around a boston are asking, after being battered with their third winter storm in two weeks. some 5 feet of snow has fallen in that time creating massive piles as people try to shovel out. multiple roofs have also collapsed in the area. this is the way it looked tonight in wilmington delaware. flames attacked a house on north market street and spread to neighboring dwellings. it was a tough fight against the flame, cold, and the ice. lets go to "action news" reporter sharrie williams live at the fire scene, sharrie what is the story. >> reporter: jim, this all erupted just before 8:00 o'clock just after 7:30 they tell us this is where flames broke out. take a look as you can see this is what is left of this four unit row home area. it is, a total loss, we're being told by the chief who was out here working on this. the the good news though everyone made it out alive. bright colored flames took off over this section of row homes. nearly 80 fire fighters from multiple agencies working together to get the fast moving fire under control. >> it looked as though within minutes the flames were spreading to the other houses. i never seen nothing like that. it was shooting out of the side. it was like something want blowing the fire out. it just took over. >> reporter: a five two-year old man was trapped inside and had to be rescued by fire fighters, that according to new castle county officials. family members rush overhearing their loved one needed help. >> we came around here and all you saw was smoke and flames coming from the side. me and my two niece and my sister ran to the door to get him out but smoke was too heavy. we had to back off. we were screaming his name to come out. >> reporter: home owner nancy thornton was watching television when she heard a commotion. >> my neighbors knocked on the door an inside come on miss nancy, we need to you get out now. i grabbed my boots and a coat. >> reporter: thornton didn't have time to grab anything else not even her purse. she has lived here for over 30 years. >> that is my home. i have been here since 1984 the second with the white awnings are, yes. i watched the smoke move in my room. it is disturbing. i'm happy that i'm alive. >> reporter: very difficult for those home owners to watch their homes go up in flames. this is still an active fire fighter scene. fire fighters in the back of the home now working so they can look for remaining hot spots. we know that three people were taken to the hospital, two treated for smoke inhalation, the third person being that gentlemen who was trapped and had to be rescued. he did suffer some burns. we know that the red cross is helping, three families tonight. life from wilmington sharrie williams for channel six "action news". >> thanks, sharrie. philadelphia police are investigating an alleged sexual assault at a septa train concourse this afternoon. detectives are reviewing surveillance video from the jefferson station at tenth and filbert. sources are telling "action news" tonight that the 28 year-old woman willingly walk with her alleged attacker to the end of a platform and then down on to the tracks. but the situation turned violent. she said she was beaten, molested there and able to escape to tell authorities. the the victim is in the hospital. no arrests have been a maid. this was a night of grief, night of tears a night of unyielding disbelief the on the campus of millersville university. students came together to, mourn violent death of the fellow student.
