Right now, police are trying to find more than one gunman and a motive. In the middle of the south philadelphia neighborhood, nearly 30 shots were fired from this intersection by at least two gunman. Reporter Philadelphia Police say around 82 00 men were shot on the six hup block of winton street, a 35 yearold man, intended target was hit in the head and killed but it was a 56 user old offduty septa bus driver whom investigators say was truck in the chest by a stray bullet, an innocent bystander. He is an outstanding citizen, a pillar of the community, ever since i was a kid, he has always been a nice individual. Reporter neighbors told us that the 56 yearold victim was on the block checking on the vacant property of his elderly mother who suffers from dementia. At this point police dont know a motive for the shooting. Witnesses observed the shooting, witnesses gave us a description of the shooter but we dont have any motive a this is time. Reporter were not identifying this family friend of the septa bus driver but she told us he underwent surgery for his injuries. Man has work for septa for decades. He is a deacon at church and last week he buried his girlfriend who suddenly passed away. He taste care of his family. His mother always calls his name, crack, crack. Officials said that he fired at least eight shots at officers who surrounded the house. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. Police were able to enter the house and subdue the man.
