"action news" reporter kenneth moton is live outside central detectives and kenneth, there is late word that this situation has cost another potential suspect his job in the philadelphia catholic high school. >> reporter: jim, the philadelphia archdiocese sent out that update late tonight saying one man suspect in the attack was an assistant basketball coach at archbishop wood in bucks county. he was not a teacher. we're told he was fired this evening. meanwhile we have learned investigators have spent the day questioning the people from that group, at various police locations, including this one. would you like to say anything or do you have any comment about what happened that night. we have blurred his face because he has not been charged with a crime, but wednesday night we tried to talk with one of the men with this large group of suspect center city gay barbers. he and his montgomery county attorney walk into central detectives for questioning. >> investigation is in progress. we're cooperating with it. we would be wise to await the outcome of it. >> reporter: thursday night ten to 12 suspects severely beat and robbed two men at 16th and chancellor streets. police sources say it is important to get a clear picture of what happened that night which why is there has been no arrest warrants for what philadelphia police called a hate crime. we have learn that the philadelphia district attorney's office says that sexual orientation is not on the list of hate crimes, so the attack cannot be prosecuted as one. some lawmakers have tried to change that in harrisburg but they failed. >> we just legalized marriage for the homosexuals in pennsylvania recently so i mean we're not that far yet but we're getting there would i like to think. >> reporter: police say social media played a major role in identifying people in this group. efforts which resulted in the discovery of this picture taken at a restaurant near the scene. we now know this is a large party of old friends from archbishop wood catholic high school in warminster, bucks county. the philadelphia archdiocese confirmed former students are suspect in the beating, and made it clear that the school does not tolerate or conn down the violent, hateful behavior, in this sense let attack. and, once again, the archdiocese said late night that one of the men suspect in the attack was a basketball coach, at archbishop wood, he has been fired, we don't know how many people from that group of 15, police have questioned, so far today, once again, no arrests and no charges have been announced in this case, jim. reporting live from central detectives, kenneth moton for channel six "action news". >> thanks, kenneth. hundreds of law enforcement officers have spent a fifth day trying to track down 31 year-old eric frein, in pennsylvania. police say frein, a self-taught survivallist, ambush two troopers killing one of them, corporal brian dickson. tonight there was a viewing for dickson in scranton.
