It is where a young woman pinned the gas of her pick up in reverse running over and killing a beloved local politician and dentist, who served this township for decades. The people who work with 77 yearold doctor robert white say that the news came just a short time after an informal meeting with other township officials. He said he was going over to shop rite to do his shopping like he usually does and then went backup to my office and i got the call. I was just in shock. Reporter it all happened a bit before 12 30 this afternoon, doctor white was just leaving the supermarket when a woman described only as income her early 20s for some reason hit the gas in this pickup truck going in reverse. Vehicle ran doctor white, sending him flying through the the stores front window. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. West goshen township manager casey leland says this community has lost something special. He was just reelected to the fourth term here, so it is just a devastating loss for this township. He was intricately involved with our operations, budgeting, personnel it will be annex dream loss for this township. Reporter in fact doctor white worked as a Public Servant in 1980 when he was elected to the planning commission. He was semi retired from his dental practice which he shared from his son with you his dedication to publish office never tapered off. Doctor whites neighbors described him as a kind of guy whose hand shake was better than a written contract. Whenever we had a question about the community and things that might be happening around us, we would always go to bob. He has just been a wonderful person, he has kept us up to dayton everything.
