It happened in an instant, a child is walking by train tracks with friends in southwest philadelphia today and suddenly shes pulled under the train and dragged two blocks. Shes now hospitalized. Wednesday night. Jim is off. Im monica malpass. A girl is recovering after losing one leg and another severely damaged by a train. Her friends and family are devastated. Annie mccormick has more. We heard the screaming. The screaming came from the train tracks just before 2 00 this afternoon, an 11yearold girl running along the side of the train with Three Friends lost her balance. She grabbed the train and her legs went under the train one severed and the other damaged. The girls were reaching out to touch the train. The train dragged the young girl a hundred feet. Traumatized, the girls friends stayed along the scene. Another girl was playing with them earlier but her daughter left before the accident. I cant believe this happened to her. Shes very sweet. For this to yo occur, im tryino grasp it. Detectives are calling this a tragic accident at this point. Its an unfortunate situation. A Good Samaritan in south jersey is being called a hero after stopping a robbery at a wawas. A masked man entered and demanded the employees get down. He was probably not expecting a fight.
