abc's alex marquardt. >> reporter: one of the holiest days of the year ending in tragedy. palm sunday services in egypt torn apart by explosions. dozens killed in two separate terror attacks, both targeting the coptic christian community. started at st. george's church just north of cairo. this photo taken just minutes before the first blast. showing a full congregation inside. the explosion right in the middle of the packed pews. cameras focused on the choir capturing the moment of detonation. much of the aftermath so graphic it can't be shown. but the damage clear around the alter, littered with debris. walls pitted and blackened by the blast. this man says people were waiting inside the church when everything went black. he passed out, then awoke and saw several bodies. as survivors tried to rescue the dead and wounded, a second blast at a coptic church in alexandria, captured on surveillance cameras. officials say the bomber tried to get through the entrance, police turning him away. he then blows himself up in front of a metal detector. surviving worshipers holding palm leaves stained with blood. leaders around the world condemning the attack. including pope francis asking the world to pray, president trump on twitter, and senate minority leader charles schumer. >> and to blow up christian churches on palm sunday in egypt is despicable. we have to redouble our efforts. >> reporter: a show of solidarity on a day full of sorrow. president dump's national security adviser is leaving the door open on more u.s. military action against syria. but in his first interview, the general suggests that the u.s. would not act alone to oust assad. political solutions will not work without regime change. >> we're saying other countries have to ask hard questions. russia should ask themselves, what are we doing here? why are we supporting supportins murderous regime mass murdering its own population? >> critics say the attack was not effective action news learned that a former south jersey resident was one of two victims killed at a shooting in a gym in florida. a former gym employee gunned down coworkers after being fired yesterday morning. the gunman killed two and injured one before killing himself. action news reporter annie mccormack is live in monroeville with more details. annie. >> reporter: and sara, jeanine ackerman grew up here. her family is here and a big part of the community. owning several businesses, including holly acres that i'm in front of right now. members of the community learned that she was killed during work place violence in florida. saturday in this this upscale florida shopping center miami dade police believe equinox managers 39-year-old jeanine ackerman and a 42-year-old became the targets of the recently fired employee who shot and killed them. wilson then turned the gun on himself. the story made national news. and here in monroeville in new jersey, those who knew south jersey native, jeanine ackerman, were shocked. >> i had to double check at the picture. she definitely looked the same. >> reporter: ackerman, a 2000 graduate of woodstown high school was a star field hockey player and played for michigan state. she later got her masters at florida international university in hospitality. and worked at top hotels in miami, eventual taking a job as general manager at equinox. the ackerman family is well known in the rural community. owning several businesses including the columbus flea market and berlin farmers market. those who knew ackerman said she was a hard worker, beautiful, kind. >> nice girl, friendly girl. always nice to everybody. beautiful smile. >> reporter: and equinox gym releasing a statement about ackerman. she was a kind and caring soul. we will deeply miss her. her memory will not be forgotten. as of yet, no funeral arrangements. reporting in new jersey, annie mccormack. back you >> thank you. philadelphia police are investigating a homicide in the city's strawberry mansion section. investigators say two people were shot along the 2500 block much north marsten street just before 10:00. one of the victims has just died. no word on the condition of the second victim, no arrests have been made. police in cumberland county investigating a drive by shooting this afternoon that left a man dead. called to the lot near chestnut and myrtle. that's where they found a man who had been shot multiple times. no arrests have been made. smoke could be see over mantioc's this afternoon. fire fighters called to a vacant building near main street around 3:30. the fire did have quite ban impact on traffic as fire fighters worked to extinguish the flames. main street was closed for a food festival, and fire fighters had to close several more streets because of that fire. 16 people have been displaced following a two-alarm apartment fire this morning in upper darby. the action cam was on the scene around 11:30 on the 2000 block of garrett road. police got to the scene first and ran in to start rescuing people. one officer was treated for smoke inhalation. no one else was hurt. a woman is in serious condition tonight following this crash in new castle county. police say the driver lost control of her car at namemans road near the brandywine town center. she was trapped inside. it took rescue crews about 30 minutes to pull her from the wreckage. parking restrictions and road closures are going into effect in less than an hour along the ben franklin parkway all in preparation for the nfl draft happening in just about three weeks now. action news reporter john rollins live near the philadelphia museum of art with the details. >> reporter: hi, sarah. well, the draft is weeks away, but the road closures are beginning tonight. or the lane closures, we should say. beginning tonight. driving much of it is a large building -- temporary building -- being built by the nfl. a building that's had impact on the folks looking for a certain set of stairs to run up. >> we had the music to rocky. we want to run up the stairs. >> reporter: that wasn't going to happen today. >> no. >> we were going to try to sneak in, but i didn't to want go to jail. >> reporter: from this group of volleyball players from virginia to this lady from louisiana with her french bulldog. >> we're bummed. >> reporter: folks bummed because they could not run up the art museum steps. instead the steps almost buried inside this growing temporary structure that will house nfl draft festivities the 27th to the 29th of the month. expected to impact traffic for those who use the roads in around the oval. tonight, phase one, crews putting out barriers to shut down lanes to give construction crews more room to work. tonight, travel lanes being blocked on the east side of the oval and along the curb closest to the art museum. but monday morning, a stretch of spring garden, westbound, at pennsylvania avenue, will also be shut to traffic. phase two will close the center lanes of the parkway on april 19th. phase three, the shutdown of the remainder of the parkway, the oval, and several adjacent streets to the west comes april 24th. cyclist monica murphy reacted to the news. >> it just gets in my way. now i have to find a new way home. >> reporter: those who live nearby and commuters will have to adapt. some say that
