that child has died. it is monday night. jim is off i'm brian taff. the big story is the fatal crash in kensington. the victim a little girl and the police say it may have been the result of recklessness. and christie ileto live, what have you learned about this? >> brian, witnesses say that two cars were racing down second street when they crashed right here at this intersection into another vehicle. the force of the crash was so powerful that even though e.m.t.'s no less than 100 meters away the 3-year-old died of head injuries. >> the two cars hit this car and i walked down the street and i saw them lifting the baby out. >> he didn't realize he was hearing the final moments after 3-year-old girl in the back seat of this crushed blue honda. the girl's mother and grandmother heading west on york street when they were hit. >> it appears the striking vehicle that was going south on second street, being operated by the 17-year-old male, may have been driving at a high rate of speed. some witnesses are saying that that 17-year-old driver was actually racing another vehicle. >> the blue honda jumped the curb and ripped up a hydrant before ejecting the 3-year-old through the passenger window. >> was she in a car seat? >> when found on the sidewalk not in a car seat. however, there is a car seat in the back of the vehicle. >> and the little baby. >> the little girl died shortly after being rushed to the hospital. >> a live picture of the victim's car where accident investigators are still combing through the scene. the police are looking for a third car, dark in color likely with damage to the front because it knocked over this utilities pole at the intersection. police are also looking at surveillance footage that businesses in the area may have. anyone with information about this possible third driver is asked to call detectives. reporting live in kensington, christie ileto for channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. two people killed in this violent crash in new jersey. a car went off the road into a tree splitting into several pieces. investigators have not yet said what is to blame for this fatal wreck. opening statements underway tomorrow in the perjury trial against the top prosecutors. kathleen kane left the courthouse, accused of leaking information and lying about it under oath. six men and six women selected. and kane denied wrong-doing. a postal worker helped the police collect evidence. the alleged weapon side of a mailbox. detectives have plenty of other evidence as well, but still no one in custody tonight. >> that's right, brian. normally there are a number of question marks surrounding a homicide car scene but in this case the whole thing was captured by surveillance cameras. not just one angle. and the gunman's getaway also on video. two men arguing when gun shots in front of the dominican store in front of the surveillance cameras. >> you see the shooter firing one shot, striking the victim in the leg. the victim tried to run and collapsed. and then you can clearly see the shooter standing over the victim, firing multiple shots while the victim is laying on the street. >> the 45-year-old male rushed to the medical center and pronounced dead on arrivals. and right away the videos help the police collect clues as to who's and where's. and another caught a suspect running down a driveway on allicot. and then help from a postal worker finding a hand gun about a block and a half away. >> and it's a good possibility this is the gun used, but the mailbox is held as a crime scene. >> police say the cameras captured some pretty good images. a man with a thick beard and curly hair, gray t-shirt and blue boxer shorts, even down to the black sneakers that he was wearing. it should not be long before they catch up with him. >> dann, thank you. mourners gather to remember a 29-year-old husband and father gunned down in philadelphia's kensington section. family members say he was walking home when two men came up and shot him eight times along braddic street. and he was a philadelphia school bus driver. the police are still looking for the gunman. the police in berks county trying to figure out what happened to a murder-suicide leaving a family dead. mark and megan short and their three children shot and killed, and the police are calling it a case of domestic violence. they were known in the community because their daughter willow had a heart implant days after important. and the mother said it left them with post-traumatic stress disorder. >> with you walk out you you have to look at the home and it breaks your heart. >> not releasing new information until an autopsy is complete on mark short. the philadelphia police and f.b.i. put out an alert following a rash of armed robberies at asian businesses. since may targeting 12 businesses in northwest and southwest philadelphia and the latest this morning in the 5100 block of haverford. getting away with money and valuables. >> between 4:00 and 6:00 in the morning. of the 12 only one happened in the afternoon. >> one suspect with a distinctive tattoo that may say "felicia" on the back of his neck. the police said they have multiple tips. the center for criminal justice home opening as usually but the two elevators involved in the crash out of service indefinitely. we have learned that paul owens is paralyzed from the waist down and kept in a medically-induced coma. they spent the weak testing the elevators, but are not sure why one went haywire flying into the ceiling. delta computers back up but trying to get people to their defendant stations. it started in atlanta at 2:30 a.m. and led to a dome domino effect. and some passengers complained they got no warning about the global disruption until they made it through seeing other passengers sleeping on the floor. and the c.e.o. had an apology b. >> my first question is what happened to the back up plan?
