Philadelphia homicide detectives say it was his gun that the little girl found in the closet and accidentally shot herself in the face. Williams is the boyfriend of the girls mother, shakeia holmes. She is charged with thirddegree murder. Williams is expected to face Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless Endangerment charges. Trenton firefighters rescued a woman from a house fire tonight. Chopper 6 was over the unit block of fairway avenue an hour ago. Fortunately the blaze was quickly knocked down. The unidentified woman was rushed to the hospital. We do not know the extent of her injuries. Not yet. A fiery multicar crash brought rush hour traffic to a standstill this evening on i95 south. It happened just north of cottman avenue at 6 00. Police say the driver, a 17yearold female student struck and killed mayer and his dog and then left the scene around 6 15 a. M. On robbinsvilleedinburgh road. About a mile from the high school. Sources say she was rushing to get to school early for a class trip. Authorities now say she was talking on her cell phone during or around the time of the crash. Its tragic all the way around, and this young girl will never be the same. Reporter mayer, a husband and father of three, was mourned by hundreds at a vigil just after the crash. All district schools were closed for two days. As the school year went on, the investigation into the crash continued. A massive manhunt then ensued and the pair were found three days later in jessop, maryland. The victim was sexually assaulted, but fbi agents and prosecutors credit her actions with saving her life. He did not harm her. She basically made him care about her. She is a remarkable young woman who was courageous from the moment she was abducted. And she was smart.
