mammograms scans can also pick up what are called incidental findings such as calcification of the arteries in the breast. researchers found these women were more likely to also have hardening of the blood vessels that supplied the heart and that is a possible prediction of the heart disease which kills more women each year then breast cancer. much more research is needed before mammograms are
