When asked what sets the white houses task force on 21st Century Policing apart from similar efforts before it, president obama responded like this the president of the united state is deeply invest in the making sure that this time is different. By his side, the task force cochair Philadelphia Police commissioner Charles Ramsey, he will help lead a 90 day investigation, to help improve how the Nations Police force is functions. Even though weve done Community Policing as a profession for the last couple of decades, many communities have been left behind, primarily communities of colors, more challenged communities. Says the task force is born out of the ferguson protests and police response, ramsey says, there is no one easy solution, but the task force will work to bring the white house something actionable. I think there are key areas that we have to look at in terms of just policing. One is establishing trust and ledges massey in neighborhoods across the country. That means, theyll challenge neighborhoods, as well, where it is very, very difficult, but we have to be able to do that. We need to take a look at our training, and education. And we need to look at technology, and how it can be applied, but applied within constitutional limit. Technology fits in the realm of body cameras on police officers, the white house is supporting that, allocating 75 million in it proposal to Police Agencies, nationwide, to outfit their officers with body cameras, with those agencies picking up half the cost. Police search from the sky late into the afternoon on day five of the search for Shane Montgomery, who disappeared early thanksgiving morning, after last being seen at manayunk bar. New research from Childrens Hospital shows injuries, related to toys, have increased nearly 40 in the past two decades. For small children, the hazard is choking on small toys, but toys on wheels caused the most injuries. Injuries typically result from the a fall, cuts, to the face or to the head, sometimes fractures, and more rarely, a traumatic brain injury. Right on toys include scooters, wagons, tricycles, motorized cars for kids. Bicycles were not included in the study. When parent purchased toys, they need to read the warning labels, the information on the packages, to make sure that that toy is appropriate for their child based on their childs age. Gary says when it comes to ride on toys, children should be supervised and always wear a helmet. But this mom says, shes not too wore bid toy related injuries. White house is also proposing 263 milliondollar plan, which calls for training, and modernized equipment for Police Across the country as well as 75 million for cameras for officers, body cameras, that is, now, earlier on Eyewitness News, the commissioner says, he already has recommendations, that he wants to smith, as well as a few other, as well.
