Now, were also seeing lots of sunshine. Thats not necessarily working in our favor. That more sunshine means there will be more heat and more fuel for the storms to get going and we have some pretty strong line of storms just to our west. Lets take a look at our High Definition radar here, our radar scope. Were looking at this really strong line almost hugging the 77 corridor right now going down from charlotte all the way up to concord and those areas all the way down just west of columbia at the moment. Here. That is Severe Thunderstorm Warnings from those locations. We are under a tornado watch until 7 00 tonight. Thats a tornado watch until 7 00 and were watching. Ill zoom in a little bit for you here some storms just to our south and west. These are on a trajectory to come our way. Upwards of 60, 70, almost 80 miles an hour. It looks sunny right now. It appears we arent the only ones staring down the barrel of bad weather in the south. The National Weather service has confirmed reports of tornadoes in louisiana, mississippi, alabama and florida. Preliminary entrance polls taken of the Republican Caucus goers show nearly 6 in 10 voters are angry at how the government is currently working while 7 in 10 say ty want a candidate who is an outsider over one with political experience. And with a third win under his belt, trump has a wide lead over the republican candidates in the delegates count. Thats right. Heres how the vote actually stands so far. Out of 94 of the votes accounted for in nevada, trump has nabbed 45 of the vote. Rubio and cruz come in at 23 leading ben carson and john kasich trailing pretty far behind with less than 5 each. The president s plan to close guantatamo bay is creating a firestorm in congress. It is indeed. The plan calls for transferring the remaining detainees to the united states. It feels like late spring, late april for us. Thats the kind of activity these thunderstorms are feeling, too, even though it is february, the thunderstorms dont know its february. Thats why were seeing so much severe activity across the southeast and in the carolinas in particular. The rest of us are 70 to 75. 77 for us here locally and were looking at a lot of rain left over from this morning and yesterday. Theres a lot of moisture in the air. Warm air and moisture is a lot of what were looking for a lot of these thunderstorms to get going. Thats what the thunderstorms thrive and grow on. We have a lot of fuel for those storms. Even without the storms right now, we are seeing a lot of wind out of the south around 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour so its going to be very breezy as youre out and about. We also have some implications of Severe Weather coming our way as well. We are watching a line right now just to our west. Kind of hugging 77 going from charlotte down to us. Kind of going through aiken at thats going to be moving through relatively shortly. Probably in the next hour or so for most of us. Youll notice the winds pick up and were seeing some very high winds embedded within that line. Gusts upwards of 60. Potentially 70 Miles Per Hour in so we dont have a Severe Thunderstorm Warning at the moment. We have the tornado watch in effect until 7 00 tonight. This red box here, this is everybody thats under the tornado watch, this area here in north carolina. Now, this is not necessarily in our neck of the woodod obviously. There is a tornado warning. This has a tornadic history and a lot of ha is moving to the north and east. Severe thunderstorm warnings around the charlotte area, rock hill and areas to the north. This is the same area were seeing. We have characteristics within this line. No warnings as of yet. Were in the southern end of this in the warmer sector of thistorm system. I expect us to see some decent impact from this. Its probably going to bring some heavy downpours of rain. But its going to be relatively brief with that. Its going to pack a punch when it does move through. We are watching this. Were obviously watching this rain back to the west as well. But its a different animal back there. Were seeing drier air, cooler air, not seeing the severe characteristics in that stuff. Its A Ridley Scott film and normally when you hear that name, you can pretty much assume that space is involved. And this is no exception. So here is my take on the scifi adventure comedy, according to the Golden Globes the martian. The crew of the aries 3 are on a mission to mars collecting samples and performing experiments and research on the planet. Upon learning of a storm approaching that has become faster and stronger than anticipated, commander lewis played by Jessica Chastain orders the mission aborted. Way to the departure ship, mark watney is struck by debris and flung off in the storm. The crew makes the impossible decision to leave them behind to ensure their own survival. Injured, he awaits and makes his way back. He manages to patch up his wounds and begins to assess his situation. Fortunately, the crew was only halfway through their mission so he has some food but not nearly enough to survive until a rescue mission can reach him. Being a botanist and general scientist, hes able to use his knowledge to create water and cultivate soil in order to grow potatoes. Although he has solved the starvation issue, nothing matters unless hes able to alert nasa hes still alive. Once again through ingenuity and wiwi hes able to accomplish this feat and now the greatest minds in the world are scrambling to find a way to bring him home. As the movie progresses, plans are devised on both sides pursuant to murphys law anything that can go wrong does. For every successful step, an equally catastrophic event occurs. He is put tough a roller and failure come to pass. Eventually a new plan is formed that, in theory, will work. It puts the original crew in danger and directly shot down by nasa. His crew decides to risk both mutiny and their own lives in order to try to brey him back. Were forced to watch from the edge of our seats in suspense as a rescue attempt is made all the while more hurdles continue to appear along the way. I actually saw this movie bacack when it was released but it was a week that i chose to review something else. I enjoyed the film but i just neverxpected it to be nominated for a best picture award. So i watched it again and upon the second viewing, i can respect the nomination. I won a golden globe for best comedy that at first seemed weird but upon watching it one more time, matt damon has the one liners made more funny by the dire situation hes in. The entire cast is great and the movie ends to be experience for the visuals are stunning and you find yourself in all the characters shoes experiencing all their emotions going from holding your breath to gasping at all the right times. Film does a good job of explaining the Science Behind everything and luckily for us, we just have to accept it as a fact rather than trying to understand it. Definitely an enjoyable movie.
