transportation department. no one answer. ner virus and nervous and i called the police. and they had to find the bus. >> reporter: they said the transportation office could not let the parents know because the substitute driver didn't have a roster with the parents. the superintendent didn't have time for an interview with abc columbia news this evening. the district said the bus broke down just after 3:00 near highway 378 and st. paul church road. a mechanic couldn't fix it. a second bus arrived. around 5:45 a third bus arrived and the parents were taken home. 8:30. the district said the students were never without heat. >> they could have handled it a lot better than they did. i under stuff understand stuff happens but let me know. >> reporter: the district said the superintendent is
