Officials say the people theyve arrested are connected to the escapees. They expect more arrests to be made. The reward for leading to their arrests has risen dramatically to 200,000, upping the ante that has shown little progress in five days. Theres not a member of the Orange County sheriffs department, either sworn or professional staff, that does down in this instance. A sheriff says theyre working around the clock to find the escapees and she says theres more than 250 members of Law Enforcement actively working the investigation. Now, a specific bill has not been put together but senators agree that it needs to have more money for bridges and highways. Education was at the forefront today as students and supporters rallied for national our state superintendent of schools, molly spearman, addressed a crowd at township auditorium. Supporters saw the auditorium of students and supporters undeniable proof of choice success. Advocates argue that School Choice increases segregation and reduces funding for public schools. Still, many feel the choice allows for catering education to the individual needs of each student. Some may really need to consider going to a twoyear Technical College first because there are so many great jobs and careers here in South Carolina now where you need a special skill. Governor haley endorsed legislation today that proposes that the state pay for High School Students and the unemployed to train for available state jobs. The bill overwhelmingly passed the house today. One goal of the bill is to make it easier for High School Students to take classes that technical certificate or associates degree. Tonight, volunteers are spreading out across the midlands in the state working to tally up the number of Homeless People in our communities. The annual survey conducted by the South Carolina Homeless Coalition starts tonight. The groups count last year found there are more than 6,000 Homeless People in South Carolina. Thanks for staying with us tonight. Oklahoma state troopers arrested a man after finding a bunch of marijuana in his car. But before they could bring him to jail, he took off with the troopers car. As Christian Shanahan reports video. In a matter of seconds, the suspect slips his handcuffed hands from back to front and hops into the drivers side and takes off. The night starts with a traffic stop. 23yearold Benjamin Henson pulled over for following too closely and unsafe lane changing. He gets in the ohp unit and the trooper asked him a few questions. Where are you going today . Oklahoma. My family lives in oklahoma. Okay. The two continue to chat while the trooper writes a warning. Great morning out here. Yeah, theres not a whole lot to do in oklahoma. Before hanson walks away with his warning, the trooper decides to ask a few more questions. Do you have anything illegal in your car . No, sir. Do you let me allow to search is it probable cause . No i have reasonable cause. Seconds later troopers discover seven large bags of marijuana hidden in the trunk. Henson is then hand carved. Thats a large amount of marijuana in the vehicle. Yes. Its not mine. When the troopers continue to search the car, thats when henson makes his move and takes off in the troopers unit throwing the bags of pot on to the street. Swerving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed with cash the canine in tow for the bumpy ride. Sorry, buddy. Minutes later henson crashes into a fence. He then jumps out of the patrol car and takes off. Ohp says this video has become a learning tool and theyre working to make changes in the department.
