End quote. It included a swastika. Bathroom and School Authorities immediately contacted Lakewood Police. They have investigated the threat ever since and take it very seriously. Again, not to alarm anyone, but they are taking this seriously and they are investigating it. They want anyone with information to call Lakewood Police. We get answers after a man was shot and killed by police after refusing to drop an Assault Rifle in akron sunday. Brian were told the officer has been with the Akron Police Department for two years. Nichole vrsansky has the latest now on this investigation. Nichole were still waiting to hear the name of the suspect and the name of the officer involved in this case. The officer is on administrative leave while the investigation standard procedure. The incident happened in broad daylight just after 3 00 yesterday afternoon with plenty of neighbors around to witness what happened. I was sleeping. I was getting up from a nap, and then i heard pow, pow, pow, gunshots. Then the police told him to drop his weapon three or four times, but he wouldnt drop his shotgun. Nichole the suspect was a 61yearold man. Police say he had an Assault Rifle. Officers were originally responding to a fight between the suspect and another man. When they arrived, they say the suspect was behind an apartment complex near a parked van. Police say the suspect reached inside that van, pulled out the weapon. Officers say they yelled several times for the suspect to put the weapon down. He did not. Thats when the officers shot the support in the torso. Its kind of sad, but the Police Officer the police did what they had to do. Nichole the suspect did later die at an autopsy is scheduled to be performed. We checked in with the Summit County coroners office. They dont have an update at this time and have not released the suspects name. Tia.
