"gronstal - 11:20 they assured us back in november and december they were signing people up left and rightr and they're still not the halfway point. we think it's timr eto pull the plug on this, go back to the old system, maybe someday come back to this issue." jack: house republicans say repealing the plan would be a step in the wrong direction... and further. the bill gets to the house floor dead on arrival. "upmeyer - 27:10 i'm moving forward instead of looking back and protect a status quo " jack: speaker upmeyer says the house won't bother debating is because any repeal of the medicaid privatization would just be vetoed by governor branstad. jack: new details tonight show a metro teacher accused of exposing himself claims he is jack/1shot: tonight local 5 has obtained the criminal complaint from west des moines police detailing what happened at valley west mall on january 30th. former lincoln high school teacher michael madson is accused of exposing himself to a female mall employee outside of the great american cookie company. according to the police report, madson maintained his innocence throughout police questioning. local 5 went to madson's home tonight for comment on the case, but no one answered. the des moines school district says madson was immediately put on administrative leave after the incident and was not allowed to return to school. he resigned his position on tuesday. jack: . one person is dead in a house fire in nevada -- and investigators say it looks suspicious. it happened early this morning in the 800 block of north avenue. the home was burning and one man was dead inside where firefighters got there. he's been identified as 36 year-old adam the rest of his family was not home at the time. "the fire itself is suspicious only because of the markings and the indicators that are there. we have people on the scene still processing it. we'll make a determination later once we get everything together." jack: investigators are still waiting on autopsy results to figure out of adam blazek was killed by the fire or something else. jack: 2015 was a roller coaster of emotions for the iowa state athletic department especially when it comes to basketball and football. local 5 sports director jon schaeffer sat down with athletic director jamie pollard to talk about 2015 and what we can expect for this year. " the year didn't start the way jamie pollard expected-- he suffered a heart attack which is admittedly something he doesn't think about much these days. after watching isu men's hoops claim back to back big 12 championships it was on to the ncaa tournament where the reality didn't live up to it. now the ncaa tournament didn't go hoped it would with a uab what was your disappointing for you were still living on the high of the big 12 championship and first game the you're early on thursday morning and um it was like it was over before it ever started and like a bad dream. but as you learn in athletics tomorrow comes whether you want it to or not and life had to go on and so we've put that in the memory bank and moved on." pollard then watched on that spring as the bank and moved on." pollard then watched mayor-- fred hoiberg chicago bulls. beloved coaches in school history. he chose murray state head coach steve person to follow fred. because he is extremely humble. have run from fred's legacy because it would be stifling. and he's been able to embrace it. and work embrace it. and work with it." then the attention turned to the football season. paul rhoads was under pressure to find success from the iowa state fan base. unfortunately-- the program didn't make the turn in the right direction. rhoads went 3-9 before being let go. "coach rhoads is a great football coach but that friendship piece makes it easier and harder. it's easier because we are so close that you were able to just work through it in a way that was good for everybody involved." "in less than two weeks pollard had already gotten the guy he wanted. toledo head coach matt campbell who fit the mentality of what it takes to coach at iowa state. "he wanted to be at a place where if we won a championship he would be the first there were places he could have went where they would say when we win a championship this is what you do. that's not the kind of environment he wanted to be at he wanted to be at something where he could build it. that is department so he fit that." so expectations for 2016 couldn't be bigger from fans in both basketball and football. in 2016 is it too much for fans to expect a sweet 16 basketball team and a bowl bound football team? "absolutely not. that's what our coaches and our administration aspires to do i think we'd all be disappointed if we weren't in the you know got to that level in basketball with the team that we have this hard but we are 16 teams in the country and so i hope that happens. as far as a bowl game that's our goal every year that'll be no different for next year. jack: jon will have more from jamie pollard throughout the month of february on the of cyclone athletics. jack: local 5 news at so much excitement tonight about being able to order a meal jack: then--state wrestling is just two weeks away. one central iowa team is hoping to keep their title at the well and at home. jordan has the highlights later in sports. brad: ((ad lib weather toss)) tomorrow on good morning iowa... zombies....caesar....and a love story, oh my! we'll take a look at new releases hitting theaters this weekend... weather.. and sam has a look at your forecast that's tomorrow on the all-new good morning iowa! "this system like i said is outdated we need to change it," said patrick west. on monday, patrick west served as a captain in woodbury county precinct #40 held in correctionville. like some others in iowa, he's questioning the way democratic caucus results are posted. "our precinct went for sanders. oto's precinct, the paper work was filled out showing they went for sanders and yet somehow the clinton," said patrick west. keane schwarz served as captain for that oto precinct, precinct 43. he was the only voter to participate and aligned with bernie sanders, but the state party results show the precinct being won by hillary clinton. "one person, i'm the only one on a sheet of paper very clearly filled out for this candidate with no oppisition and it's you become a hillary delegate," said keane schwartz. precints 40 and 43 were 2 of 6 held at the river valley high school. schwartz, west and fellow precinct co- captain stephen eitzen all say caucus night was a night of disorganization. "there wasn't a lot of discussion. at the end there was, but during just sitting there. in hindsight i would have what are you guys doing," said eitzen. that "afterwards" eitzen mentioned..... mass confusion and sanders. was just a basic cafateria. lots of just have a seat whereever you want," said west. the men say the precinct's lone o'malley supporter offered to switch support to clinton forcing a deadlock, but that person left the caucus prematurly. " you can't have votes that way it's just not resonable. i wanted her to have her opinion i wanted her to have her votre, but if she's already left the building and we can't confirm it, it can't be counted," said west. "never was there an announcement that some candidates were unviable and that there was a realignment period that they could realine to other groups," said eitzen. in the end, the captains signed off on a 9-8 win for sanders but the state democratic tally shows woodbury county precinct 40 awarded to clinton by that total. monday marked all three men's first caucus experience. they told us they want to see changes in the iowa system but plan to participate again. "there needs to be more people step forward and question and make those numbers more available," said schwarz. " it fit when it was just drinking whiskey and arguing all night. it doesn't fit with modern lifesytles at," said west. ts local 5 news we are iowa jack: local 5 has been in touch with the iowa democratic party about these accounts. here's a statement.
