including child endangerment causing serious injury bloodsaw even explaining to the judge why "failed to act which resulted in my daughter jayda injesting morphine and resulted in serious injury why i had to go to polk countyy" with a large group of friend and family watching, the judge sentenced bloodsaw to a maximum of forty years behind bars- with no bond, but potential for parole. she's sentenced 15 years less than her ex boyfriend deshaun trombone- who is also charged in jayda's death. trombones family, was present at todays sentencing telling local 5 news what they thought of bloodsaws lesser charges. "they wouldve been main point. as long as point " bloodsaws attorney said she knew if she went to trial, she would face all ten counts- possibly life in prison. "its a horrible loss but she took responsibilities for her actions or inactions by accepting the plea agreenemtn but one she claire now bloodsaw's attorney also said bloodsaw would be eligible for parole after serving 18 months in prison, but its not likely that she will be granted parole that early. reporting live, claire powell local 5 news we are iowa stephanie: claire thanks... now again-- deshaun trombone, who was tionne bloodsaw's boyfriend, was already sentenced to 65 years for jayda's death last month. now he was not her father, but did have another daughter with bloodsaw. her name is layla and she is now in the custody of d-h-s. jack: no rest for metro cops this weekend-- a rare three homicides over the course of the weekend. there were two in des moines-- suburban waukee. jack: information about that case today. report of 42 brendan mcguinness says taken into custody on saturday afternoon. with first in the death of 41-year-old gino risola. risola was found at a home carefree lane. waukee police several times. the hospital. search for mcguinness.... of des moines, suffering wound. today it was they say the two men were "acquaintances". but today we're finding out more about the relationship between them. local five's nikki the digital media those new details. nikki we've been combing social media to learn more about these two men... this is brendan mcguinnesses facebook page... and here's a post on his page that caught our attention. "waukee people, is where it's at... he tags gino risola and his wife brea, saying "no better company to be had." and gino writes back "love you too bro." this was just two months ago. now brea, the victim's wife, also posted a message on facebook thanking people for their kind and thoughtful messages since her husband's death... she says her children are devastated and now mcguinness had only recently moved to iowa... he grew up in quincy, massachusetts. and the patriot ledger newspaper in that area has compiled a comprehensive look at his criminal history which began at age 11. it includes this quote from quincy police captain john dougan "we are familiar with him and we've had dealings with him." end quote. an understatement maybe. in 1990 mcguinness was sentenced to 20 years in prison for robbery at gunpoint. in prison, he head-butted a correctional officer, which added to his sentence. but he was released in 1999, before returning to prison in 2004. he was released in 2008, then police tried to stop him from shoplifting at a c-v-s and he punched an officer. he served four more year in prison for that. then moved to iowa... where he on a charge of serious injury in connection with a fight outside a west des moines nikki/back on cam now we did try exactly how these two men knew each other, but police would not give they also would not release the to this case. this is waukee's first homicide in in the digital media center, i'm nikki davidson, we are iowa. jack: the polk county has an unsolved homicide from over the though dozens of people saw it. it happened at evolution nightclub on northwest 6th when police arrived, they heard shots 20 year old dashwan smith moines injured. he died later at the hospital. were shot, but police haven't made any arrests in the case. neighbors are really mad about this nightclub ... and their anger started before this incident. we'll hear from them coming up at six. stephanie/otsr in norwalk this morning-- a student was hit by a car on his way to school. it happened on the road outside of lakewood elementary school. the school tells us the student had to be taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. now there was no crossing guard in the spot where this accident happened this morning... which is causing school officials and police to take a closer look at their policies... we'll dive deeper into that tonight at six. stephanie/2shot coming up on local 5 news at five... it's plain and red. so why are the new holiday starbuck's cups casing a social media uproar? jack: but next... trying to piece together the confusion after a 6 yr old is shot dead in louisiana, and the accused are two cops. ((on camera tag)) chris few remains hospitalized? and was unable to go to his son's funeral today. his attorney says the police body cam video was not shown in court... but it was described. and he says few posed no threat. brandi hitt abc news los angeles. jack: after weeks of student protests and even the football team threatening to strike... the president of missouri resigned today. cheers rang out campus after the announcement. protesters say wolfe failed to respond to incidents at the university. head over the weekend when more than thirty black football players refused for future games, unless wolfe stepped down. eventually the entire team and coaches joined in solidarity. wolfe announced his resignation after a closed door meeting today. "you're watching local jack: christmas controversies tops what's trending now. jack: maybe you've seen this story circulating on your facebook feed today. a former pastor is slamming starbucks for its latest holiday coffee cups. stephanie: the cups are plain red, without the christmas ornaments the coffee chain used in the past. joshua feuersten... who calls himself a social media personality... says that starbucks hates jesus. he posted a that tells customers how to trick baristas "merry christmas" on the cups. and he's asking those customers to later post cups on twitter. starbucks says the cups are meant to encourage customers to tell christmas own way. stephanie: bells won't be thanksgiving at nordstrom. posted on facebook reveals the department store won't be celebrating christmas until thanksgiving is over. here it is--- "we won't be decking our halls until friday, november 27," the nordstrom sign reads.
