that melbourne is nearly 70 degrees where the remainder of us are stuck in the 40s and 50s, all about the winds now in the underbelly of high pressure exiting the coastal carolinas. clockwise flow of air around that, east and eventually south easterly breeze. bottom line, we are heating temperatures up or keeping the sun in play and the rain chances the near term. long-term, we may see a few rain drops as we approach this coming weekend, next weekend, saturday and sunday. the chance is very, very low. for today, gorgeous skies and pleasant temperatures. that's all i got for you. next seven, featuring again a big increase in temperature and breeze by about the mid peak of wednesday. and then we see temperatures fall just after smidge into the next weekend timeframe as we increase clouds of bringing a minuscule rain chance again. 20 % best. i want to take you out to the 408 in orange county. we're seeing a couple issues on the 408, the first right here, a crash on the eastbound lane near exit 9 carter street is causing slow downs. you can see indicated in those oranges and heading over to golden rod road at lake underhill, we have a new crash delay. i want to take you to downtown orlando, a new i-4 ultimate road closure that is very popular colonial drive to marks street will be shut down and that will continue until next year. i do have an alternate route for you if you'd like to take garland to colonial and make a left on magnolia, that could avoid that road closure. fox 35 jackie is out there right now and has the latest on the project. >> good morning. you know, this video pretty popular, 8,000 cars here travel daily on garland avenue. you can see when you put the cones out, the signs. we did see a couple of drivers a little confusing. didn't know garland avenue was closed, but they'll have to get used to it all year. starting today, use have shut down garland avenue. >> the closure is necessary for crews to get in here and install, relocate utilities, and realign garland avenue, basically push it a little to the east so we have room to widen i-4. >> it's all part of the i-4 this will also create a new eastbound i-4 entrance ramp from colonial drive. this area in particular will have a lot of work going on because the city has a project of their own. so you can expect a lot of construction workers to close streets and signs you need to watch out for in the months ahead. >> there's a lot of work going on in the downtown area and it's really important for folks to take a little extra time, take a look at what's planned for construction. >> and again, you're going to see this closure right behind me for 14 months. for now, reporting here in downtown orlando, jackie, fox 35 news. >> thank you. you decide, 2016, marco rubio will be in seminole county today. >> he's trying to build support of next week's florida primary. rubio will be holding a rally at 6:45 this evening. the florida senator says he must win tuesday's primary in florida if he has any chance at this nomination. rubio's visit comes two days after donald trump held a rally at ucf. up to cheer on the front runner. the rally only lasted about an hour but was interrupted at least 20 times by protesters. >> three is. there it is, cameras. look up there, camera. look up there. that's a protester camera. get them out of here. get them. >> right now, donald trump has 384 delegates. ted cruz closing in with 300. marco rubio's in third with 151. and john kasich has 137. the candidates need 1213 delegates in order to secure the nomination. >> meanwhile on the democratic side, i think bernie sanders is fighting to stay in this race. >> he had a pretty good saturday. more on what he's doing right now. >> bernie sanders did win two of three on super saturday, keeping the pressure on hillary clinton they were in michigan, sanders and clinton, debating in flint, michigan. the two frequently interrupted one another. this is the best example of that. >> if you were talking about the wall street bail out, where some of your friends destroyed this economy. >> you know. >> excuse me, i'm talking. >> if you're gonna talk, tell the whole story. >> let me tell my story. >> and so that was one of the many interruptions. >> not as many as the gop side, but still a number of the candidates were able to speak of the water crisis in flint. the governor has been under fire for failing to intervene sooner when it it was discovered the lead-tainted water. last night, the two candidates called for the governor to be recalled. >> the governor should resign or be recalled. >> what is absolutely incredible to me is that water rates have you are paying three times more for poisoned water than i'm paying in burlington, vermont for clean water. >> and it's knowing to become a partisan issue, the democrats attacking that much more. governor rick snyder fired back, saying i'm taking responsibility for our value system, as we should. he went on to say my track record is getting things done and i want to get this done. by the way, clinton leads in the michigan polls. in volusia county, a man is dead after being mitt by a car in daytona beach. >> investigators are trying to figure out how it happened. it took place about 7:00 last night. the man was hit and killed by that suv. the victim's name has not yet been released. witnesses say they do often see people crossing the road there even though there's not a cross walk. the driver of the suv did stop and is now cooperating with the investigation. no word on if that driver will face charges. the nation's coming together former first lady nancy reagan. >> mrs. reagan died yesterday from congestive heart failure. she was 94. luann is here with more reaction today. >> it sure did not take long for people to start paying their respects, and it is very clear how influential nancy reagan really was. the just say no anti-drug campaign and was passionate about stem cell research. she also promoted better treatment for our veterans. now she met her husband, the late president ronald reagan while working as an actress in hollywood. ronald reagan was also working as an actor at the time. many americans are now remembering her as a great first lady, including florida senator marco rubio, who is credited for saving nancy reagan here when she fell back in 2008. >> in 2011, i was invited to speak at the reagan library. we got a chance to meet her, a chance to have dinner with her. it was an extraordinary experience. shared this message, saying, throughout her life, nancy's incredible commitment to her country and her family did not falter and she will continue to inspire all of us to live bravely and selflessly. nancy reagan made a monumental impact on our nation and i know her legacy will live on, just like her husband's legacy has. well, funeral arrangements still have not been finalized, but we do know that nancy reagan will be laid to rest right next to her husband at his presidential library in seeny valley, california. still ahead, are you achy, congested? you may have the flu. >> i feel like i got hit by a truck yeah, good morning. state lawmakers agreed to set aside $20 million for the construction of the downtown ucf campus. that is all the money that the school was asking for, but it's not a done deal. governor rick scott will still have to sign off on this proposal before it fully passes. now, yesterday, lawmakers agreed to spend $700 million on school construction projects across the state. legislators agreed to give ucf $42.3 million of that money, which is more than any other university in the state will get. of course, about half of that is going to go to fund the downtown campus, which is set to sit just west of i-4 and east of paramour boulevard near the site of the old amway. a chunk of that money set aside will be coming from bonds. has been highly opposed to borrowing money, but should he approve the plan, the downtown campus is set to open in the fall of 2018. >> for now, reporting, fox 35 news. >> all right. 8:13 right now, we're talking about the weather. it's all queue, jayme king. >> i know. blockbuster. you know what, it makes mondays better a little more tolerable when the weather looks as great as it does, not only today but also for the remainder of this work week, looking pretty solid overall. morning low temperatures, how low do they go? we had 40s, upper 30s, out of brooksville. clear skies last night and relatively light winds, especially featured across north central and off to the west central florida area, right up and down the gulf of mexico there. the light wind, clear sky condition really allowed temperatures to bottom out, the low dew points, as well. but the ball game biz to change as we inherit extra moisture and extra warmth. you can see where we're at now with numbers out of northern of the county there at almost 70 degrees, compared to 40s and 50s still of this hour over the interior. so we've risen up from our morning lows. now we only indulge on good looking weather area wide. the winds continue to increase, freshen up out of the east and southeast over the course of the week and you can see now getting a little gusty. showing us the earn 60s in play. a ruffled surf zone that will only build as we increase the local wind wave component and also distant north easterly ground swell from the northern atlantic filtering in. this will put our surf today at 3 to 5 feet a mixed swell. the winds out of the east, textured and ruffled up. also a tremendous rip current problem, not only for today, but exponentially magnified as we go towards the end and back end of the week, as well. if you decide to adventurer, be very, very careful out there and right now, big high pressure, scooting off the eastern shores and keeping this next monstrosity at bay. the question remains for how long and in what duration are we talking about here, closing on the end of the work week. we'll start to inherit more cloud cover and eventually a slight shower risk during that time for saturday and sunday. i'll leave it at 20 % right now. until then, party on and do what you do. gorgeous skies and pleasant temperatures on the day to day. looking like solid upper 70s. if you're blessed enough to be in the golf scene, more of the same, through noon, into 3:00. you can see the gut of the nation right here, for the bread basket really warming up. high pressure, again, clockwise flow of air around the pup, bringing in the southerly end off the gulf of mexico viteae in advance, what is west will move off to the east and i'm talking about a massive warmup in play. you can see what's going on right now out of kc. still a little chilly out there at the nation's capital, 37 degrees inair is calm and the weather overall, sweet and sunny with high pressure on top of as far as the modeling is concerned, again, with high pressure over here, we're going to see a lot of the energy approaching from west to east up and over the ridge and spill out over the coastal caroline oz. here's the deal. tail end of the system will develop another low here and the modeling has been latching onto this feature since about last tuesday or wednesday. and as that draws closer, we'll begin to pepper in extra clouds and with the approach of front, you never, ever want to take the rain chance out entirely. we'll leave the chance there. it lacks like widespread severe weather threat. by the time this gets here, it may trend a little farther to the north and leaving us again with showers for saturday and sunday. the chance again very low at about 20 %, at least at this time. so a lot of timing, it's only monday so things will obviously change. i want to give you the lay of the land, the outline for the next seven days. highs in the 80s, breezy, and no chance rain again until saturday, maybe sunday. good morning. i want to take you out to acoy, 429. the accident sky fox over it. near franklin street. the southbound lane of the 429. there is an accident emergency crews are out there new and it is
