>> reporter: stand by. good morning, guys. these drivers. you can see right you know they have the road closure sign over 44444444444 and drivers will need to get used to this for an entire year. more changes for downtown commuters. starting today, crews have shut down garland avenue. necessary for crews to get in and install drainage, relocate some utilities and realign garland avenue. we have room to widen i-4. >> reporter: part of the i-4 ultimate project. this will create a new east bound, i-4 entrance a, from colonial drive. fdot said this area in particular will have a lot of work going on because the city has a project of their own. you can expect a lot of construction workers, closed streets and signs you need to watch out for in the months ahead. >> there's a lot of work in the downtown area. it's important for folks to take a look at what's planned for >> reporter: we've been seeing traffic building up in this area this morning, so if you can avoid it. >> john: a man is hit by a car in daytona beach. >> amy: it took place about 7:00 last night at the intersection of north nova and brentwood drive. investigators said that the man was hit and killed by the suv. his name has not been released. witnesses said they often see people crossing the road there even though there's no crosswalk. no word if the driver will face charges. >> john: the search is on for the person who opened fire on orange county deputies. just before midnight at the mr. gyros on west colonial. they received reports of a trespasser. they showed up and heard gunfire coming at them from behind the building. luckily, no deputies were hurt. the store manager is shaken up >> because we're open late, especially on the weekend. we're having a lot of people come from clubs, you know, people getting drink and stuff. so it's not safe. >> john: deputies say a dark suburban pulled out of the parking lot and sped away. it's unclear if the people inside the suv were involved in the shooting. >> amy: you decide 2016. marco rubio will be here in seminole county today. >> john: he's trying to build momentum ahead of the florida primary. he will hold a rally tonight in sanford at 6:45. and he said it's said that he must win tonight to have any chancex the at nomination. a rally lasted an hour but interrupted at least 20 time by protesters. >> there he is. look. little wise guys. that's the protester. get him out of here. get him out. >> john: that's become a part of his speeches lately. he has 384 delegates. ted cruz closing in with 300. marco rubio, 151. and 37 for john kasich. on the democratic side of things, bernie sanders is fighting to stay in the race. >> reporter: good morning. interesting night at the debate. sanders has only about half the delegates that hillary clinton has. he has momentum. won two of the races. michigan and mississippi casting votes tomorrow. and sanders and clinton had a debate. each other, and accusing the other one of misrepresenting their record. >> if you are talking about the wall street bailout, where some of your friends destroyed this economy. >> you know -- >> excuse me. i'm talking. >> if you're going to talk, tell the whole story, senator sanders. >> let me tell my story. >> reporter: interesting to see the crowd reaction there. it was a tense moment. and they agree on one thing, the water crisis in flint, michigan. governor rick snyder has been under fire, particularly by the democrats for failing to intervene sooner. >> the governor should resign or be recall involved. >> what is absolutely incredible to me is that water rates have soared in flint. for poisoned water than i am paying in burlington, vermont, for clean water. >> reporter: governor snyder pushed back. that continues to be a tense moment and michigan goes to the polls tomorrow. political analyst frank torres is joining me. bernie sanders had a feisty debate. does he have much of a chance or keeping things interesting? gives you may ask. the wind off the atlantic is pumping around the southern edge of high pressure. that's bringing up warmer temperatures in the coastal locales early this morning. 55 at titusville. and daytona beach has yet to really see the onshore wind commence. light, slight, and not registering much north of the cape. winds are basically calm to light and variable over the interior. and 3 miles per hour at orlando international. big high pressure again. this thing is frequently strong. warm us up. we have southerly air flow on the southern periphery. and we have a front clearing denver. it'll try to get in here, but i think the high can stave it off all week long. drawing closer to the region by friday and saturday. increasing the clouds and bringing in a slight shower risk. gorgeous skies, and 73 by 5:00 p.m., and 66 by 8:00 p.m. tonight. the wonderful weather forecast for the next seven showing increasing clouds by friday, slim, slight isolated shower chance. and 20% we leave it at that time. but great weather rolling in and get out and enjoy it. >> kristin: good morning. the crash causing significant delays on i-4 westbound has been cleared. we're still seeing a little bit of a slowdown, i-4 westbound, the cars going away from you are traveling west. 436 looking west on to i-4. i want to take you to titusville where we have the crash that's causing a few slow downs. i-95 south bound after the cheney highway exit, florida 50, causing a few slow downs there. back to downtown orlando, there's a road closure on garland from colonial to marks street. this work goes on until at least next year. we have an alternate route for you. garland to colonial and a left on magnolia, can you avoid the roadblock. >> amy: here's a look at that construction area we're talking about. crews are working on garland between colonial and marks. officials say that the closure is necessary for drainage and bridge work. it'll create a new eastbound i-4 entrance ramp, realigning garland to make room to widen the interstate. they expect this to last at those looks for alternative routes can go to fox35orlando.com. >> amy: ucf one step closer to having a downtown campus. >> john: the state legislature is the latest group to sign off on the deal. and gina benitez has more on the campus of ucf, and where things go from here. >> reporter: state lawmakers decided to set to aside $20 million. the same amount that the school was asking for, and it was approved by the board of governors. and it's not a done deal just yet. going to the desks of governor rick scott who must sign off on it. lawmakers agreed to $700 million. they agreed to give $42.3 million of the money, more than any other university in the state. of course, half of that will go west of i-4, and east of paramour near the site of the old amway. a chunk of the money is coming from bonds. but in the past governor rick scott has been highly opposed to pulling from borrowed funds. if this passes, and the governor approves the request, this will, the downtown campus will be finished in the fall of 2018. for now, reporting lives at ucf, gina benitez, fox 35 news. the search is son for two park ridge drive. one suspect knocked on the front door of the home and said he was looking for a man who lived at that address. when the suspect learned that that man was not at home, a second suspect standing nearby pointed a gun and started to shoot at the garage. thankfully, no one was hurt. a man audz couped of robbing a bank and leaving the money behind is expected to be in court. he was arrested yesterday. they said he robbed a wells fargo on is sebring boulevard. he left the bag full of money sitting in bushes outside of the bank. he is being held in jail on $20,000 bond. crews are investigating a brevard county crash that sent one person to the hospital. after the car burst into flame. take a looked at pictures. north court-on boulevard 2:15 yesterday morning in merritt island. the driver hit a pole and parked car in front of a diner. he was airlifted to a nearby hospital. thankfully, no one else was hurt. >> john: on the business watch, uber technology has earned
