dead-- after being hit by a car in daytona beach. investigators are still trying to what happened. according to investigators.... it happened around 7 o'clock last night at the intersectoin of north nova road and brentwood drive in daytona beach. investigators say the man was hit and killed by an s-u-v. they say he died from his injuries shortly after. the victim's name has not been released at this time. witnesses in the area say they often see people crossing the road... even though there is no crosswalk. authorities say the driver of the s-u-v did stop... and is cooperating with the investigation. no word yet if that driver will face charges. developing this morning-- the search is on for opening fire on a group of orange county deputies. investigators say it happened-- just before midnight saturday-- at the "mister gyros" on west colonial drive. deputies say they arrived on the scene-- after receiving reports of a trespasser. soon after they ` showed up-- they say they heard gunfire coming at them from behind the building. they also say a dark suburban was seen pulling-out of the parking lot... and speeding away. luckily no deputies were hurt. still-- the store manager says he is shaken-up by the whole thing. this morning-- it is still unclear if the people inside the s- u-v were involved in the shooting. we are still waiting to hear from investigators about who fell from a cruise ship near florida's key largo. officials say the 46- year-old fell about 100-feet from the 10th deck of royal caribbean's navigator of the seas ship late friday. a helicopter and plane were used in the search.... which the coast guard says covered more square nautical miles. getting schooled this morning-- u-c-f is one step closer to getting the money needed to build its downtown campus. during their budget meeting yesterday-- state lawmakers approved 700-million dollars in school funding. of that money-- 20- million dollars would go to the downtown campus. overall-- u-c-f will receive more than 42-million dollars... more than any other florida university. now that the money has been approved by the "state board of governors"-- and the legislature-- it will need to be signed-off by governor rick scott. the university plans to have the downtown campus up and running by the fall of 20-18. the nation is coming together this morning to pay tribute to former first lady -- nancy reagan. mrs. reagan died yesterday from congestive heart failure. she was 94 years old. during her time as first lady she championed the national "just say no" anti-drug campaign and was passionate on stem cell research and treatment of veterans. both current and former politicians spoke out about how much she did for our country. mrs. reagan will be buried next to her husband at the
