people who bought homes next to the fairways have been fighting development plans for many years. tuesday, seminole county commissioners are expected to vote on a plan to build apartments on part of the old golf course. joan hessfield lives next to it. >> i think that housing is good idea in a way. >> developer kyle reava wants to build 286 luxury apartments on 23 acres at the abandoned course. the project is called alexander at sable point. reava negotiated with the hoa and agreed to give homeowners 84 acres of open space to preserve the area's natural look. he says it's a fair compromise. >> it gave them certainty as to what's going to happen behind their house. so we think it raises values or at least stabilizes the home values to know what's going to happen there. >> seminole county commissioner lee brokered the compromise. it got developers and homeowners to meet a few times and iron out their differences. >> commissioners, both and city and county, developers, property owners, need to be sensitive to those homeowners because when everybody else is gone, they'll still be there. >> sable point hoa president compromise which says in part, the development as proposed will add a limited number of up scale apartment units to replace the abandoned golf course site. within an attractive living alternative for central florida. >> it was a real team effort and i think it will be successful for everybody. >> now, reba tells me it county commissioners approve that plan tuesday, he could start construction within two months and people could move into the first apartment units late this year. we'll keep you posted. a police say that friday night, an officer was called to america's best value inn on burbly boulevard. cassandra manning had passed out in the hallway there. when the officer arrived, manning was in her hotel room with her husband and started yelling, manning allegedly wouldn't listen to police officers orders to calm down. and then after the officer put the cuffs on her, she bit the police say manning also put up a fight on the way to jail where she sits tonight. she's charged with battery on a law enforcement officer. a father and daughter found dead in a home and tonight deputies say that the father took his own life, 42 -year-old and his 13 -year-old daughter were identified this morning. the brevard county sheriff's office says they received a 911 call last night from a family friend who said the two had not been seen or heard of in almost a week. deputies forced their way into the home on indian street and found the two bodies.
