Reporter the collision between the school bus and the car happened around 3 00. The intersection here at Fourth Avenue and first street has been cleared. Lets get right to the video so you can see what the scene looks like with that many school bus on its side just a while ago. Were told a total of seven people were injured in the accident. That includes four children who were on the school bus and three adults, including the driver of the car involved in the collision. All seven taken to methodist hospital. Were told by the Fire Department all had minor injuries. One child did suffer serious injuries. However, those are nonlifethreatening injuries. Witnesses tell us the bus was going south on Fourth Avenue and attempting to make a left turn when it was struck by the blue mustang. I spoke to one witness who works across the street at the car wash. She told me she heard the crash, ran out and called 911 and tried to calm the kids while they waited for first responders. The bus was going southbound the mustang sped and knocked into the bus and knocked it over. They were traumatized and shook up. I made them lay down and made sure one was relaxed and calm and told them it would be okay. Did this he seem injure they seem injured . No. They were shook up and crying. Reporter seven people injured in the collision. Four children who were on the bus, one of those has serious injuries, but nonlifethreatening. The other three had minor injuries and three adults, which include the driver of the mustang. We dont know what school the bus was coming from. Authorities have not told us that. The children. According to the witness, she estimated the kids were between 10 and 12 years old. Again, that has not been confirmed by authorities. Two groups agreed to do so, the new york City Employees retirement city and the teachers retirement system. But funds for the police, fire and board of education have not divested. He was one of the supervising officers on scene when garner died following a chokehold. He is charged with failure to supervise and was stripped of her gun and badge. The city is going to increase the number of beds for Homeless Youth. This 20yearold says she was kicked out of her home because shes gay. Now she is living at Covenant House, a Nonprofit Charity on the west side. She says if Covenant House did not have room for her id be on the street. Theres no doubt about it. Reporter to help keep Homeless Youth on the streets, mayor de blasio announced the city is adding 300 beds across the city for youth. There are 392 beds for run away Homeless Youth. The additional 300 will be added over three years. We want to make sure there is no wait list for any young person who needs a safe place to sleep, that there is a shelter just for them, a place where they will feel safe and supported. Reporter the mayor says the city is working with the of stay in crisis beds to 90 days instead of the current 60. Now, the mayors critics have repeatedly said the Homeless Population has soared because the mayor waited too long to deal with the issue. But mayor de blasio today said he is owning the crisis that exists now. However, he also says previous mayors must be held accountable. We got to look under this hood of this whole situation because this is really a scandal, if you think about it. How did this happen for decades, all of this . How is this tolerated . I think for a long, long time in our society, the needs of poor people have been ignored. I think a lot of peoples rug. And the city also says that 40 percent of Homeless Youth are members of the Lgbtq Community and that they are kicked out of their homes because of their sexual orientation.
