Current Location is 458 miles eastsoutheast of miami near the central bahama chain there. An hour. Cover, bright cloud cover around the center. Thats a sign of potential additional strengthening. Thats whats forecast by the
National Hurricane center to become a category 2 to 3 storm on friday. Winds go in excess of 110, 115 miles an hour. Could get stronger than that. The question is from here forward, where does it go . Most models turn it back towards the
United States and head, in this case, forecast from the
National Weather service, making it a category 2 landfalling hurricane near chesapeake bay. One model, which is a very good model, and the one that hit sandy a couple of years ago, the european model. That one says its going to have nothing to do with the
United States and make a turn to sea. Its been consistent. Whats it seeing that the others arent seeing . Well have to watch and see how the forecast evolves. Lets talk about this track. If this track does happen were still in the blue zone which means the potential landfall zone is anywhere in the blue shaded area, we will see effects from the storm. Well have the airflow coming in from the south and east. Strong east winds will produce coastal flooding, some potential beach erosion, potential for heavy rain still as well. This would be in the sunday to monday timeframe. But we have problems before that. Well have a front moving through. Its just about done that. It will trend us to cooler weather and wet weather will return tomorrow. We made it to the 70s earlier, near 80 in a lot of the area. Look on the other side where the front is located. 50s and 60s. Tomorrow we struggle to reach 60 around here. A couple of showers on fox 5 sky guardian eastern pennsylvania. Nothing really much is going to happen tonight. A few showers will be around. Its later tomorrow when it gets second. Its cool to the 60s. 63 monticello. 65 poughkeepsie. 70 in the city. Close to that everywhere else. Were down 5, 10 degrees from 24 hours ago. Breezy. Tomorrow. What will happen is the front thats moving through will stall near the eastern seaboard and eventually this on shore flow will set up. Thats why we struggle to get to 60 tomorrow. That produces periods of rain that will start later tomorrow afternoon, particularly on into tomorrow night. Some of the rain will be heavy at times. Strong easterly wind will get going. That will continue into saturday. Coastal flooding will be a possibility. The rain will continue to saturday. The threat of flooding will continue. Low 50s tonight with a few showers. Tomorrow, the rain gets going later in the day, around 60. Then its raining friday through monday depending on joaquin. 50s to 60s friday, saturday. Not drying out until wednesday. Steve we need it.
