What a great week we have up until the time matthew is on our doorstep. Weve been waiting this. Bentz hot and stormy. Wee had floods so please enjoy the next couple days. Today was 79 degrees. Above the average high of 77. About the same tomorrow and then a little shot of cool air, wednesday, thursday, and friday. And we dont bring rain into the forecast until friday night. And yes, that could be from matthew. Weve had some pretty big changes. If you missed it earlier concerning Hurricane Matthew ill get to those in a second. In the meantime hopefully you in the 70s. Whether its 71 in roanoke rapids. 74 here in the capital or 78 in fayetteville. A lot better than anything weve had the last few month. The humidity is down, too. Were going to be able to cool down a little mr. Tonight. Keep the radar off, no rain for the next few days. Just a few clouds. Sunsetting earlier and earlier. 72degrees. Down to 70 at 10. 60s overnight you. Walk about the door tomorrow morning. 60 degrees. Thats week. What ehave is High Pressure pretty much in control of a good portion of the weather. We had a frontal system come through over the past couple of days. Thats helping to drop our temperatures. The next cold front is way, way out there. Its scheduled to be here this weekend. And yes, it may influence what happens with Hurricane Matthew. Lets spend some time talk about that. I know its on everyones mind it could be impactful here in North Carolina. They fly this non stop from now until time its no longer impact the the u. S. Still continues to move incredibly slow. Its one of the strongest but slowest i have ever seen. That just makes the forecast so much harder. The pressure continues to stay very low. Remember lower the pressure goes the stronger the storm gets. Thats not the only Hurricane Hunter aircraft out there. Another one just getting to the storm. Look at the path. Bahamas. Theyre sampling the atmosphere. Thats where the storms going next. So if we have a better understanding of whats going on where the storms going we can have a better forecast. Thats very important because this could affect millions up and down the east coast. Heres the latest track heading for the haitian coast sometime tomorrow morning or early intersection afternoon. Then kind of curving back toward the bahamas over cuba through wednesday. Stay down there through thursday. Shore. Sometime friday then on our doorstep, sometime on saturday. Theres the center line of this cone of uncertainty. Ill put the center line from 11 00 a. M. Up. You can see it in yellow. Theres an obvious shift to the west. So that puts us in a whole different ball game now here in central North Carolina. This ridge of High Pressure which sits off chooser of over the Atlantic Ocean all summer long, thats going to influence what happens. Hurricane to the west. If it weakens, makeshift east and that cold front i showed you comes a little sooner that could push it east. And the honest truth is, we dont know how exactly its going to play out. We do know theres a 500 mile swath on saturday afternoon that could have a category two hurricane. The computer models arent helping us mush. Yes, they are fairly certain whats going to happen through of get a little haywire. Theres nothing conscientious. They have shifted tour the west, as well. Because theres so much spread that tells us theres a lot of urn certainty. So thats why were going to have to take this together. Day by day. In the meantime lets enjoy tomorrow. Highs around 80. No rain. Plenty of sunshine. And it gets cooler by wednesday and thursday. We have mid to low 70s. We have 59 degrees thursday morning. If we do see impacts here it will be prly by the time it gets here its moving a lot faster, so we could have some rain and some wind here in our part of the world this saturday. Good news is, it gets even cooler and drier and sunny next week. So we have one day not so fun but Everything Else this week and next week looks pretty good. Feels like fall. Jeff joan is here now with a look at sports. Well, it is the tackle that hit that hard. Some people say yes and they might actually have a point. Well show you why. Plus, it was the biggest upset other weekend and the tar heels pulled it off. Instead were degree to break tough, thats one way to describe yesterdays loss. But i bet panthers fans are using different words. Words we arent going to say on tv but its actually not the loss that has people concerned. Instead everyones talk about cam newtons concussion. Some might say the full story starts early infrastructure the first wait. Cam rushed for a first down and made sure everyone knew it. He even tossed a deon jones. When jones saw newton slow down before he crossed the gel line instead of tossing the ball he tossed 225pound of muscle. It locales like he won that battle. Tosses cams last play the game. He l the game with a concussion. The coach says he has no idea whether his starting qb will be back on the field. He made one thing clear he does not blame the defender for delivering that hit. He was right at the gel line. And so, again, thats a no, i really i mean, you know, again, its right at the goal line. I mean, its one of those things. I was playing i would have taken the shot. So coach says he would have delivered that shot, too. All right, then. The panthers play, again, next monday against
