death along i-40 westbound. it happened around 9:00 last night. >> a 33-year-old man was crossing the street near the the scene and no charges have been filed. the name of the victim will not be released until his family are notified. students and parents are stunned and saddened by the death of a student. he was scheduled to start in 8th grade in orange county. michael highland has more on how the community is people at gravely middle school are mourning. he was a rising 8th grader. he started to have trouble preparing related to asthma. he was rushed to the hospital but passed away county. a standoff between an aberdeen man and police ended peacefully after almost an hour and a half. according to our media partner, the aberdeen time, the incident started around 10:00 when police were called to a home to a place off glendale drive to a and was damaging property. the 27-year-old said he wanted to die by, quote, suicide by cop. the man came to the front door of a home and was taken into custody without incident or injury to anyone around 11:30 last night. looking ahead to this afternoon, a rally for justice is taking place in raleigh. it's for two people. a lenore county teenager shot and killed by a state trooper after investigators say he pointed a gun at the troop ear and woman who died last institute. 18-year-old durante miller died in march outsued of a club. 26-year-old dominique whirl died in 2016. it was called a suicide. today's rally starts at noon and ends at 2:00. police wake forest wants to give you a chance to meet local it's this morning from fayetteville. these temperatures will be climbing into the 90s again. we are looking at low to mid- 90s. 94 degrees the high temperature this afternoon. very small chance of an isolated shower or storm. you are, the better chance you have of picking up showers and storms. dew point in the 70s. that means we'll be in the steamy category once again. humidity added into the temperatures of the day will actually feel at points like it is about 99 degrees this afternoon. but we do have this weak cold front that will slide through the area. we'll get a chance of an isolated shower or storm but it even as we head into the day tomorrow . the frontal boundary will weaken. cooler for tomorrow. a small storm chance for tomorrow as we. we go from 99 yesterday to about 94 today. and then we are looking at a high of about 90 for to. dprad yulely kind of stepping down here as we head into the end of the weekend. as we head into monday, we have this coastal low pressure a few showers will be our way. closer to the coast, right along that i-95 corridor and to the east, you will pick up a chance of showers and storms. a quick look at the tropics here. we do still have two system this is a we are keeping a close eye on. tropical storm gas ton still spinning over the atlantic and it will strengthen over the next couple of days before it weakens over the open it won't impact any land think about as we wind the month of august and wind down into september. believe it or not, last weekend of tomorrow. starting things off this morning with a beautiful look at prestonwood country club. sun up in a few minutes here. current satellite and radar not showing up a few showers popping up. we will see a chance of a few more clouds built in this afternoon as well. 77 degrees is our current temperature in raleigh, uncomfortably warm outside this fayetteville. the good news is that toyed is not going to be as hot as yesterday. temperatures still in the 90s, low to mid-90s this afternoon. a few isolated storms as well. high temperature up to about 94 today. we'll start the day around 77. warming up to 89 degrees and hitting that high of 9 had at about 3:00 this afternoon. filing a new indictment against wayne county judge in a bribery case. in november 2015, prosecutors jones ii promised and offered an fbi officer cases of beer and cash to get a record of hills wife's
