They found him thanks to a man who reck nieds ognized that attacker. Katherine creag is live where the suspect is being held. So many people shocked to see the video of this attack. As you said, it was an alert passerby who got a look at that suspect, recognizing him from Surveillance Video released by police and some of the businesses in that area on 23rd street. The suspect, kari bazemore, slashed a woman on the face yesterday morning, but there was a man around the midtown area right by st. Patricks cathedral 6 00 at night and alerted two officers, who called for backup and the 41yearold suspect was arrested. This happened about 6 00 at night. A 24yearold woman walking to work on 23rd street was followed by the suspect, according to police. Out of nowhere, investigators say he slashed her, possibly with a razor blade. He talked with us about what happened, but first youll hear from one of the diner workers who helped her. It was really scary. She didnt know what to say. Shaking. I wish i could have reacted better and got a better description of him, but the to get inside a building. Reporter and understandably, the victim doesnt want to reveal her face. She received seven stitches. The diner worker said she was shaking but she was actually quite calm in trying to figure out who this person was. It was a random attack, were being told by police. As for the suspect, hes here at this Police Building. Hes expected to be walked out about 9 00 this morning. Back to you. Quickly alerted police. All right. Thanks so much. A homeless man now faces murder charges in a deadly stabbing at a bronx mcdonalds. Police say raphael gonzalez, seen in this video, turned himself in yesterday. They say he attacked 28yearold adam garcia at the kings bridge restaurant on monday. Garcia was the manager at that were told gonzalez spent hours at the restaurant before garcia finally asked him to leave. Gonzalez allegedly returned and then killed him. Happening today, medical marijuana dispensaries open their doors in new york state. There are only a handful of facilities across the state. In our area, there are two. One is Columbia Care on 14th street in union square. The other is on east post road in white plains. The medical marijuana is only available to qualifying patients in nonsmokeable form. We expect there to be a fairly slow ramp. A handful of patients coming in by appointment at first. Over time, well have normal hours. At least six more facilities are slated to open in our area soon. One will be in manhattan, one coming to queens, another to the bronx. Two are slated for long island. A second facility will open in westchester county. Right now police are trying to track down a Sexual Assault suspect in brooklyn. This happened in early december, but investigators just released this Surveillance Video of the man theyre looking for. They say he grabbed a 24yearold woman walking along bergen street and tried to pull down her pants. However, the woman did manage to scream and ran away. The man ran away. The woman fortunately was not hurt. The bronx man now charged with murdering his pregnant daughter is expected to go ber phfore a judge today. William caruth is accused of killing his 39yearold daughter andrea. Her body was found in the basement of their home in baychester yesterday, three days after she went missing. Sources say he bludgeoned and strangled her after she found out he had secretly taken out a second mortgage on their house. She was a very giving person, very, very generous. This is a terrible, terrible family and friends held a vigil last night outside Andrea Caruths home. They released balloons into the sky to remember her and her unborn child.
