Police say it wasnt a hate crime and the students were not the intended targets, but miles is facing several charges, inclauding attempted murder. New this morning, a bronx mother is charged with murder, accused of dropping her baby out of a window. Tracie strahan is in mt. Hope where police around the that woman overnight. Reporter well, the infants mother is charged with seconddegree murder. Thats what weve learned. We also heard from witnesses who say her other Young Children who were inside at the time begged her not to do it. Weve learned that 27yearold Tanisha Farren is facing those murder charges. Witnesses say they overheard her yelling god, help us all before she dangled her her other children were saying, mom mommy, dont throw her. The 6monthold was rushed to st. Barnabus hospital where she was pronounced dead. Those who knew farren say this was all out of character. She was laying on the floor naked. After that, she started just yelling. She looks like a perfect mother. Those kids were always well fed. You could see it. They were healthy, welldressed, very respectful. Reporter her other children are all in Police Custody or the custody of child and Family Services this morning. Witnesses say they were also naked, like she was, when authorities showed up. Neighbors say she was found naked and screaming after allegedly dropping her infant from a sixth floor window. All of this happening yesterday on an Apartment Building. Witnesses say they heard her screaming things like, got, help us, and dangling that infant girl from the window. The baby was later thrown. The child was then rushed to st. Barnabus hospital where she was pronounced dead. I am so devastate. You have no idea how devastated i am. I cannot believe she did that. She was okay. Im trying to tell you, she was okay. Reporter weve learned that apartment when all this happened yesterday. Ages 4, 8, and 10 years old. Theyre currently in the custody of child protective services. The california Highway Patrol says that road along with several major highways also north of l. A. Will remain closed for at least the next 24 hours. There are mudslides, parts of the roads are still under water. There was a very strong system that created flash flooding throughout northern los angeles county. It swallowed several cars, homes as well. In fact, there are about 20 students that are still trapped in a school after the buses werent able to make it through the muck to pick them up. Some of the drivers who did try to make it through were tossed around by rushing mud and water. All we saw was just a mountain of boulders and dirt and stuff coming right for us. Police are investigating what caused the window to fall. In new jersey, Police Arrested a man in a hitandrun that left a College Student fighting for her life. Investigators say that Michael Choynowski struck anna sim yoe lee with his pickup truck. Anna is in a coma. The two former new jersey day care workers accused of urging children to fight are trying to get their charges dropped. The two women are trying o get accepted into a Pretrial Intervention Program for firsttime ond ffenders. If they complete this program, the charges would be dismissed. The u. S. Navy will now look under water to find the wreckage of the cargo ship that went missing during hurricane joaquin. It took 33 crew members to their deaths. As a matter of fact, theyre saying this is the third time this type of infant death has happened in three months here in the city. That infants mother s here at the 46th precinct. They say she was naked and yelling when she was arrested yesterday after allegedly throwing that 6monthold out of the window. And that wasnt the only child home at the time. 27yearold tanisha faron was arrested and charged early this morning. Witnesses say she was naked and overheard yelling things like, god, help us, as she dangled her 6monthold daughter from a sixthfloor window. Her other children, ages 4, 8, and 10 years old, were hugging on to her, according to witnesses, asking her, mommy, dont throw her. P dolice say she did anyway. The 6monthold was rushed to st. Barnabus hospital, but the little baby was pronounced dead. Those who knew the woman in the something that was certainly e unexpected. She was laying on the floor naked. After that, she started just yelling, you know, god, help, stuff like that. She looked like a perfect mother, man. Those kids were always well fed. You could see it they were healthy, welldressed, very respectful. Reporter her other children are said to be in custody of child protectivee ervices this morning.
