arrested at his home by fbi agents. federal prosecutors say burke took quote a short cut on the way to justice in the case of that burglarly suspect. lobe was arrested for breaking into burke's unmarked suv. according to the federal indictment he then beat lobe after lobe was arrested and taken to the fourth presync. he then tried to cover up the assault by immediating with and pressuring a number of cops who witnessed it. >> we believe the charges are up later in court. he's a heroine dealer. >> reporter: now, u.s. attorney court documents say that burke actually bragged about the alleged assault saying it reminded him of his younger days as a police officer. again, burke ordered hail without bail until a court hearing on friday. no other police officers have been charged thus demonstrations. in chicago. they've been that way throughout e day. hundreds of demonstrators attending there now. at some point today the demonstrate ors calling for the mayor to step down. earlier, as you said he spoke to the city counsel apologizing for the police shooting. chicago has been royal since video was released two weeks ago. he was shot 16 times and the officer involved shooting said sorry. >> again, officer jason vandike charged with fist degree murder. the cover up. the u.s. justice department has launched a civil rights probe in the department. still a dynamic situation. it's been a day filled with dramatic moments. we'll keep an eye on any developments in chicago. >> new at 5:00 police made an arrest in connection to a cony island rape. 31-yore-old rodney wilson is in custody. he's believed to be the one in this video. he raped a woman at gun point in an apartment building. he followed her in an elevator and grabbed her as she was getting out and sexually assaulted her in a stairwell. >> police in florida made an arrest in the murder of a rabbi. charles killed raskin in miami last year. he was visiting his family when his murder has caused an emptiness and void that cannot be replaced. he was a good, kind and caring father whose life was cut short by a violent act. >> charles is charged with first degree murder and will be tried as an adult. >> donald trump's controversial comments about muslims drawing more criticism tonight. >> donald jay trump is calling for a total and complete shut down of muslims entering the united states. >> so trump continues to defend that that statement he made a little bit earlier this week insisting that this ban on muslims would be temporary but his opponents from both parties say that he's not speaking nor
