Right now more on the weather. I was looking back at Hurricane Sandy and i ope this storm veers in the proper direction. Well, now, it appears that the latest data, because this changes every time we get new data. That its going to make a landfall somewhere between the outer banks of North Carolina and maryland. That would mean it would be south of our area, not making a direct hit, but we could still see some effects of the storm, of course. Anywhere along the eastern seaboard. Just maybe not as severe unless it hits us directly. Right now it doesnt appear that we will. But still very near the cone of uncertainty and right now projections are it could become a major hurricane category 3 before it makes landfall. Well get to that. A look outside. Our view, rom the top of the rock camera, it is cloudy. Astemperatures 70 degrees and very mu ggy agai ytoday and all that rain from this morning has moved off the north and east. Lets take another look now at joaquin centered just east of the bahamas and threatening and now warnings are up. You could see t structure looks pretty well defined. Cant find an eye just yet. Its there. That may show up a little bit later. Hurricane warnings are now in effect, central and northwestern bahamas, including nassau. The storm is drifting in that direction and the winds are infence ifying infencifying. Its moving up to the south and west towards the central bahamas. Thats why the warnings are up now. Theyll feel the effects of a possible category 2 storm tomorrow afternoon with top winds of 105 and gusts will be higher. Then the storm starts to take a turn on thursday night. And on friday, as it gets into warmer water, back over the atlantic could intensify to a category 3 storm with winds of 115. It may stay that way out in the warmer but waters of the gulf stream just off the coast. Right now the scenario is a landfall somewhere near the outer banks and possibly even the delmarva area. This entire region could see the landfall and that would happen on sunday afternoon. Maybe as a category 2 or 3 storm. North of cape hatteras. But cape hatteras, norfolk, all the way up the coastline to coastal maryland have to be on the look out for the storm as we ll as the jersey shore. Still not out of that cone yet. As it looks right now, south and west of our area. Which means the further outh and west, the less of an impact. Some rain, some wind, some coastal impact. So, still nothing definitive just yet. The storm from earlier today, that front moved off shore with most of the rain, but look at some of the rainfall totals between one and our inches of rain this morning. From all of that coming through the area. But now well get a little bit of a break from at least the heavy rain, but cool, windy, raw. Thursday, friday only in the 50s. Rain appears again on saturday. And then well have to wait nd see what happens with joaquin. That means more rain and wind saturday into sunday. Still ahead. Might just happen.
