thinking we're going into that warmer weather and we got that today with some thunderstorms. that's moved on now. a couple of clipper systems coming in out of canada. the one over the great lakes and the other one will both come into the area with snow, rain, wind and bitter cold like it's it will be cooler tomorrow. there's still some showers around. so don't put your umbrellas away. but the worst of the wind and cold will be saturday night into sunday morning. we'll start to watch one of those clipper systems get a lot closer on sunday, overnight it will bring some rain to start, but then it will change over to snow. north and west, you could see some light accumulations of snow. the city might see a dusting. even parts of connecticut through early sunday morning. then it's out of here and moving on, but not the cold. the winds will gust as high as 50, maybe 60 miles an hour on sunday morning and that will bring our windchill down to single digits. teens and 20s during the day newborn baby girl. police have just arrested that child's 20-year-old mother accused of killing the infant after hiding the pregnancy for nine months. we're live with more on this deadly secret tonight. >> reporter: and rob, police tonight told us a story of a desperate young woman who hid a full term pregnancy. her family did not know. the baby's father did not k, until she was charged with murdering her own child. she was a mother for just a short period of time, nassau county police say she suffocated her newborn baby girl after giving birth in her bedroom yesterday morning. >> she delivered h baby herself. as far as we know it was a healthy baby until it suck comed to asphyxiation. screaming and found her bleeding profusely and called 911. the doctor suspected she had given birth though she denied it. detectives found the baby in a black plastic garbage bag at the back deck of the house. >> there's some point where the mother was -- >> she was a student at nassau community college and had a part him job at a car wash. why she hid her pregnancy and allegedly murdered her own child is not clear. that. i don't think i'll every know the answer to that. >> reporter: police reminded us tonight of the safe haven law. she could have taken her newborn child to a hospital or a fire station. no questions asked. it's unclear whether she knew about that law. she is now being charged with second degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court reporting live from minneola, news 4, new york. and a new story is emerging surrounding the slashing of a man near penn station today. this happened just after 3:00 this afternoon. as that man was entering the 1-2-3 subway station. an area bustling with commuters heading home from work. we're live in midtown with how police say the attack really unfolded. >> reporter: tonight law enforcement sources tell us this was apparently a bad drug deal and that the suspect and victim were fighting over the price of drugs. still, for folks who use the subway every day, seeing police here and blue tape was alarming. >> it's like horrible. that's really scary. >> it is disturbing. >> it's really crazy. >> growing concern in new york over a growing problem, slashings. >> my mom texts me all the time, be careful, look what you're doing, keep one hand in your bag. >> reporter: on friday alone two men were slashed. the latest attack near the heart of the city. just after 3:00 in the afternoon a man about to go in the subway was slashed across the back. law enforcement sources now tell us it appears to be a bad drug transaction. an argument over the price of the drugs may have led to the slashing. police looking for a man and woman in connection with the attack. early friday m ny the individual. >> the city is dealing with an uptick in slashings. a 20% increase over the tame same last year. they're rolling out an initiative to focus on these crimes. >> is it something you think about more? >> every day. every day i pay attention to what i'm doing. i don't listen to head phones, try to make sure i'm not the next victim. >> reporter: a lot of commuters feeling that same way tonight. no arrests have been made in these completely unrelated attacks and both victims are expected to be okay. thank you. well, things got a little heated tonight outside roper logic's concert while fans were waiting to get inside a music venue called term noll 5. a dumpster was fully ablaze right nearby. firefighters arrived around 9:0030 and brought the fire under control. the cause is under investigation. and now to an update to an i-team exclusive. inquiry with ten officers. one of the supervisors is talking to investigator sarah wallace about the allegations. >> reporter: an nypd lieutenant ten active cops who are suing the department over alleged quotas which are banned. he did not want to be identified. >> they're telling the truth. >> which is? >> that there was a quo that system within the nypd. it's a constant pressure. when i get called into the captain's office. >> reporter: the officers told us that minority neighborhoods are targeted. >> they tell you this to your face, black and hispanics between 14 to 21, they must get stopped. >> so people are targeted? >> yes. >> and who's targeted? >> mainly in minorities area. >> the lieutenant claims it's all about monthly activity reports. smoo the sergeant addresses it in roll call and the cops have to go out there and bring something in. >> what happens if the officers don't get them? >> they're punished to the point >> they'll transfer you, they will threaten to give you a bad evaluation which they do give you a bad evaluation. >> reporter: officials insist they are responding to conditions in neighborhoods and the only push is to reduce crime. community activist tony herbert watched the interview with the officers as well. >> i think the whole presentation that you have done actually opened up that you know, that whole can of worms that everybody said i told you so, because that's what black and brown people are looking at -- looking upon as as money generated for the city of new york. >> when they say this is smarter policing and all of that? >> no, that's just nonsense. this needs to stop because they keep talking about community policing. this is not community policing at all. >> the city has asked a judge to dismiss portions of the lawsuit that deal with quotas and alleged racial discrimination which is officers are also claiming. a decision could come any day. from plastic bags. he'll be in court tomorrow. well, a stark warning from president obama about the threat of isis getting its hands on a nuclear weapon. simply put, the president said it would be catastrophic. mr. obama made the comments today at a nuclear summit in washington saying terrorists would only need an apple's worth of plutonium to kill hundreds of thousands of people. just last week we learned isis bombers in brussels stalked and video taped a nuclear scientist. also only 23 out of 130 countries have secured the nuclear material in their hospitals, universities, and power woman is violently attacked in the bronx. it happened this afternoon in co-op city. investigators say that this woman followed the 103-year-old victim up to her apartment on bellamy loop. while in the hallway she knocked that woman to the ground with her purse and the food she had just picked up from a local community center. the victim refused medical attention. anyone with information should a nanny is being hailed a hero tonight. her actions saved the life of a baby boy but now she is laying in a hospital bed in a medically induced coma. she pushed his stroller out of the way of an on been walking in the crosswalk with the traffic light but the 70-year-old driver didn't see her at the time. the driver is not facing any charges. >> one of the biggest mysteries of the o.j. simpson murder case will remain a mystery. the los angeles police department has concluded that a knife found at the former estate was not linked to the crime. they were testing a knife found by a construction worker more than a decade ago. stabbing deaths of his ex-wife and her friend, but he was found liable in that civil trial. the murder weapon has never been found. tonight the family of the ex-wife is asking a judge to declare her legally dead. she was last seen 34 years ago. the family needs a death ser tiff kate to file a wrongful death lawsuit. they believe the new york real
